Cuellar said his office received information on the blaze reported on Feb. 9. Further investigation revealed the identity of the three boys, which cannot be released because they are minors.
Sheriff’s Office investigators presented their findings in the case to the Webb County Attorney’s Office and secured detention orders for the boys, authorities said.
There was enough probable cause to charge the juveniles with arson and burglary of a building, said First Assistant County Attorney Rolando Garza.
Garza said the boys, ages ranging 11 to 14, could face several consequences if they are convicted. Punishment could include a fine, probation, restitution or confinement in a juvenile detention facility or a combination.
