B) If you pay a lot of money 1 – March & Rally
Assumptions
- General – All
- Specialty – Maximize all 4. (Reference: Specialty Guide)
B-1-1) Awakened (Star10 + Specialty)
Assumptions
Evaluation Criteria
The following 2 types are listed below, but the rankings are sorted by evaluation 1.
- Evaluation 1 – Considers only Buffs
- Add up the percentages of the 5 types of buffs: attack, defense, HP, march size, and rally capacity.
- Evaluation 2 – Considers Buffs & Debuffs
- If a general has a debuff, its percentage is added to the score of Evaluation 1.
- If debuffs for all types of troops, the debuff value x4.
Buffs by Stats
As for the buffs by stats, the values are at 5 stars because the value at 10 stars is currently unknown. However, I am assuming that the increase in value at 6-10 stars is the same for all generals, so there will probably be no impact on the ranking. (If I am wrong, I will correct the ranking)
Buffs by Skillbook
Basically, it is assumed that by using an assistant, the following 6 types are attached.
Attack, Defense, HP, Speed, March size, March Speed (Lv4 for each).
In other words, it is basically assumed that there will be no difference depending on the skill book.
However, if a general has a skill book that cannot be added, it is excluded from the buff value.
Overall Rating
For when marching or rallying, I recommend Elise.
Next, Scipio.

When used as the main general, he is not that good.
However, since all of the buffs are basic buffs, they do not weaken him at all when he is a reinforcement or defender, and he is excellent.
Also excellent when used as an assistant general.

B-2) Non-Awakened (Star5 + Specialty)
Overall Rating
For when marching or rallying, I recommend Elise and Scipio.
These two are almost equally rated.
If you want to focus on the attack, go for Elise.
If you want to focus on durability, go for Scipio.
In addition, if you want to use both as Reinforcements and Wall defense general, Elise is the best choice. (For details, see the section for reinforcements described later.)
1. Elise
- Skill – Ground Attack +30% (requires Dragon), HP +30% (when attacking), Mounted HP +30% (when attacking)
- Specialties – Ground Attack +60% (requires Dragon), HP +50% (requires Dragon), Defense +10%, Mounted Attack +10%

Example of adding a skillbook Lv4
- Ground Attack +90%
- Ground HP +105% (add)
- Ground Defense +35% (add)
- March Size +0%
- Ground Speed +20% (add)
When marching or rallying, it is rated about the same as Scipio.
Considering their stats at lv40, Attack Strength is 40% higher than Scipio’s. Defense is 30% lower. HP is 7% higher.
If attack strength is important, Elise is the best choice.
Also, if you want to use it both as a reinforcement and wall defender, Elise is the best choice. (For details, see the section for reinforcements described later.)
2. Scipio Africanus
- Skill – Ground Attack +30%, HP +40% (all when attacking)
- Specialties – Ground Attack +30%, HP +46%, Defense +36% (all when attacking), Mounted Attack +10% (when attacking), March Size +6%, Death turning wounded rate of troops +10% (when attacking)

Example of adding a skillbook Lv4
- Ground Attack +60%
- Ground HP +111% (add)
- Ground Defense +61% (add)
- March Size +6%
- Ground Speed +20% (add)
When marching or rallying, it is rated about the same as Elise.
If endurance is important, Scipio is the choice.
It also has the advantage of march size and the rate of conversion of soldiers from dead to wounded, which Elise does not have.
3. Guan Yu
- Skill – Ground Attack +30%, HP +20%, Mounted HP +20% (all when attacking)
- Specialties – Ground Attack +50%(when attacking), HP +50%(when attacking), Defense +10%, Mounted Attack +30% (when attacking), March Size +6%

HP and attack stats increase values are higher than Scipio’s.
However, at generals Lv 40, it is at a slight disadvantage compared to Scipio.
– ground attack is more than 25% better.
– ground HP is about 10% worse.
– ground defense is about 25% worse.

If you want to increase the rally capacity, there is no other choice but Alexander the Great. (+15%)
He also has the largest march size, so he is recommended if the number of troops is the most important factor.
He also has a higher stat increase in HP & attack.
However, even taking this into account, it is not enough to make up for the difference in buffs between him and the other generals.
Example: Scipio vs Alexander the Great
Buff difference by skills & specialties only
HP – 66% / Attack +10% / Defense -26%
Lv40 Stats Scipio – 1,437 / 1,446 / 1,494
Lv40 Stats Alexander the Great – 1,521 / 1,494 / 1,457
Buff difference by stats (approx)
HP +16% / Attack +10% / Defense -8%
The large difference in HP cannot be filled.

C) If you pay a lot of money 2 – Reinforce
When reinforcing an alliance member’s city, “when General is leading the army to attack” buff ( = Marching Buff) is disabled.
(See this article for details: Buff / Debuff – Basic Guide)
Assumptions
Same as for “pay a lot of money”.
- General – All
- Specialty – Maximize all 4. (Reference: Specialty Guide)
Overall Rating
When reinforcing an alliance member’s city,
I recommend Elise, Trajan, Epameinondas.
Elise for the attack.
Trajan for the number of troops.
Epameinondas for HP.

Considering only skills and specialties, the total value of attack, HP, and defense buffs is inferior to Trajan’s by 7%.
However, he has a higher attack stats than Trajan, and at Lv40, his stats-based attack buff is about +20% higher than Trajan’s.
But, since it is greatly inferior in terms of march size, the overall rating is almost the same.

If only skills and specialties are taken into account, the total value of attack, HP, and defense buffs is far inferior to Peter the Great.
However, his attack and defense stats are higher than Peter the Great’s, and his stats-based buffs at Lv40 are about 20% higher in attack and 8% higher in defense than Peter the Great’s.
It also has an advantage in terms of march size and rally capacity, so the overall rating is close.

Taking only skills and specialties into account, the total value of attack, HP, and defense buffs is not bad.
However, his status is low; at Lv40, compared to Scipio, his stats-based buffs are about 8% higher in HP, 20% lower in attack, and 20% lower in defense.

Note – Scipio vs Elise
The advantages of ground troops are high HP & defense.
The disadvantage is low attack.
Reference: Troop Type Guide: Usage & Characteristics (Mounted, Ground, Ranged, Siege)
Therefore,
if you want to improve the advantages of ground troops, choose Scipio,
and
if you want to compensate for the disadvantages, choose Elise.
Note – Scipio & Guan Yu’s Weaknesses
Scipio and Guan Yu perform significantly worse when they are not “attacking (marching)”, i.e., when they are reinforcements (alliance member’s city) or defense generals on wall.
If you are using them as your main general, some players may need to train a separate general for reinforcements.
Note – The following cases are no problem. Attack buffs (march buffs) are applied.
– When participating in a rally / starting a rally by yourself
– When sending reinforcements / defending / attacking an occupied building on the map (Portal, Temple, etc.),
Detailed explanation: Buff / Debuff – Basic Guide
Note – Elise, Trajan, Epaminondas’ Versatility
Unlike Scipio, Trajan & Epaminondas’ skills and specialties are always fully demonstrated, not just when attacking.
Elise is slightly weakened, but still performs very well.
Therefore, it is also excellent when used as a Reinforcement & Defense general. (Reference: Best of Defense General (Wall))
If your defense general isn’t growing up enough, it’s good enough to use them in a dual role. (Although it is troublesome to put it on and off the defense general each time)
Note – Robert the Bruce
If you look at just the basic skills, he seems to be a good ground PvP (attack) general, but assuming the specialty is maxed out, he is not a good PvP (attack) general because the fourth specialty is only active when he is a defense general.
- Skill – Ground Attack +15%, HP +25%, Mounted Attack +15%
- Specialties – Ground Attack +45% (In-city), HP +35% (In-city), Mounted Attack +35% (In-city), HP +25% (In-city), All Troops Attack +6%
- Base Stats – 115 / 109 / 120 / 110
- Stats Increases – 8.96 / 8.77 / 8.87 / 8.62

Soult + Scipio yes ?? XD
Soult has 95% attack, 50% hp, and 40% defense without skill books… What do you think about him reinforcing or as a assistant general as compared to Trajan? This is with five stars and fully developed…
When fully developed with 5 stars.
With Soult as an assistant, it is slightly superior to Trajan (buff +8%). Despite not being able to attach an attack skill book.
(Soult(+185%), Trajan(+152%+25% attack skillbook))
See also: Best of Assistant Generals: Ground PvP
For reinforcements, when comparing the following, Soult as main is slightly better (buff +12%).
Main: Soult(+865.2%), assistant: Trajan(+152%)
Main: Trajan(+820.2%), assistant: Soult(+185%)
(Compare the sum of Attack + Def + HP + March size + Rally capacity + Skillbook)
If you had three generals. Soult, Elise, and Trajan… Which of these three would you make your main general and which would you make your assistant general? If reinforcing other players was the most important thing to you. Fully developed 10 stars for the main general and the assistant general with fully developed specialties. This would include the skill books.
Guan Yu, has a bigger attack than Elise, look at the 4th star of the nod.
How do you feel about Soult? The new general.
I added him, please see B-1.
I noticed that B1 doesn’t have the main gold skill book buffs in those numbers… Soult has 35% attack, 15% hp, and 15% defense… Am I missing something?
It is included in “Skill (Awakened)”.
Aren’t stars six through ten only functional for the main general? I thought the only things that count on the assistant general was main skill book, regular skill books, and specialties… So awakened wouldn’t matter on the assistant general… Am I wrong?
? I am not saying that the assistant’s awakening is functional. This article is a ranking of main generals, not assistants.
Here is the ranking of ground assistants.
Late to the game. But I want to know who’s better pvp Elise or Trojan. I can’t decide who max out
Elise is better
Thoughts on Basil II?
He is not recommended. Because even if he is raised to focus on either ground troops or mounted troops, the buffs will only be halfway there.
He is not as good as the top ranked generals above.
In level 40, with all specializations, and 500 of cultivation, without adding additional skills, as it’s not affecting, Scipio is having 268% HP, 289% Attack and 245% defense. Elise is having 291% HP, 300% attack and 215% defense. Only advantage of scipio is the march size, but in my opinion Elise is stronger than Scipio, and if reinforces much better. I would put her on first place.
Completely agree on Elise’s figures. But for Skipio I calculate Att=259, HP=284, Def=245.
My interpretation of these figures is that maybe Skipio is a little better against ranged and siege. While Elise may be little better against ground and mounted.
And of course Elise is by far better in reinforcing .
Hi. What’s your opinion on Scipio reinforcing buildings and temples vs Trajan?
I think Scipio is superior.
Sorry, my question wasn’t clear. Scipio’s buffs pretty much go poof when he’s only reinforcing players or also builds and temples?
No, he is not weakened in battles in temples or other buildings. In buildings, marching buffs apply in all offensive, reinforcement, and defensive battles.
See below for details.
Buff / Debuff – Basic Guide
Comparing Skipio vs Elise,,,is there any insight of who is overall more efficient for offensive game (i.e. attacking with your ground march)?
Would you post your list of reinforcing generals like your other pages? I’m interested to see who you think top 1 to 10 is.
I added it.
is Yue Fei any good?
Out of ranking.
My understanding is that Alexander the Great potentially has the best stats in the game in terms of base stats + increase. As generals get to higher and higher levels wouldn’t that be important and worthy of a mention here?
It is true that his HP and attack stats are on the higher side, but even taking that into account, his buffs from skills and specialties are too low to make up for that buff difference.
For more details, please refer to the supplementary information I added to the Alexander the Great section of the main text.
is Nordic Barbarian King qualified for Ground PvP ?
No. He should be mayor.
What do you think about Elise for reinforcing?
I think she is also excellent when reinforcing.
With -30% HP, it’s a close race for Trajan and Empaminondas. If you want to focus on offensive power, go with Elise; if you want to focus on durability, go with Trajan or Empaminondas.
However, Elise is excellent in both marching and reinforcements, so she is the only one from that perspective, and I think she is a very good general.
I’m in the process of training Elise, and even though I have Elise’s specialty, Dragontamer, set to Genius, it still shows 12%. In portrait, it’s 30%, which is correct?
Hi and thank you for this very useful guide.
With regards to ground generals, why Yue Fei is not considered at all?
If you consider only 3 specialties, he is inferior to the 2nd ranked Peter the Great.
If you maximize 4 specialties, he is inferior to the 7th ranked Nobunaga Oda.
Even if you don’t consider specialty at all, he is inferior to Trajan.
It is not recommended to choose Yue Fei instead of Trajan or Scipio.
Yue Fei es un general de Montados o Caballeria Amigo disculpe
Please tell me about Scipio and Calus. At the time of pvp, I think that mixed troops are common, but when attacking at a ratio of 2 ground + 6 ranged + 2 siege, I think that Calus is stronger than Scipio because it uses the attack up buff of all troops. How about that? ?? Please let me know if you have any recommendations for Scipio and Callus, and the composition ratio.
I think you are right, but I think you should change your general to a ranged troop type in the first place, because that organization is mainly ranged troop.
Reference: Best of Ranged PvP General
It is common to specialize in one type of troop formation as you progress through the later stages of the game. (Strictly speaking, only the layers are mixed.)
If you want to use a ground troop type general, I think about 90% ground troops and 10% other troop types are appropriate. (Include troops of all levels, and make the number of troops an inverted pyramid. (=Layers))
Hey could you please give advice or write about using Scipio and Trajan on wall because I see many big player using them on wall?
If you want a defender that focuses on ground troops, Trajan is excellent.
Scipio is not suitable as a defender because his skills and specialties cannot be fully utilized when defending.

What about new general Carus?
I added it to the article
.
ANY GOOD equipment for trajan, is he good to add celtic demon dragon
It is best to equip a sword or something with a ground troop buff to the base attribute.
It works well with Celtic Demon, but if you don’t have a Lardon and you are raising a ranged troop general, it is often more useful to assign him/her to that.

Dear 222
I love that kind of Japanese spirit.
But I want to be strong, so I am doing what the administrator says, inadvertently and surely.
Hi, regarding Scipio skill books, I am using ground speed, defense and hp. some says speed not needed and replace with attack. What is your suggestion. I thought its important to reach archers asap so used speed. once ground reach them even low attack of ground should take care of them, as def/hp are weak of archers.
Or should I keep speed and replace def or hp with attack?
Hi Naimul.
I have the same idea as you. (I prioritize speed, HP, defense)
Please take a look at the following article for an explanation of the skills you should put on a ground general.

I will stick to it for now.
It’s nice to meet you, Mr. Author. I always refer to your various articles and enjoy playing your games every day.
I was hoping to get an Africanus, but now I understand that Trajan is just as good!
I’ll be sure to get him when he shows up in the tavern!
Since there are articles on archers and infantry, it would be nice to see some of the best cavalry generals!
Just published an article on the best generals in the cavalry!
Best of Mounted PvP General
I got Nobunaga just because he’s Japanese like me, and I’ve been training him in a subordinate city, but looking at it this way, there’s an overwhelming difference between him and Trajan…
I think I’ll exchange Trajan for cash when I get him.
