We don't need to start banning lifts for people. Tu agak overkill

There are those among us who have invisible disabilities or who just need the convenience of a lift sometimes. This is a problem that can be solved with deeper empathy and better communications with each other.

Yes, they shouldn't be cutting queues. Yes, they shouldn't expect people to exit the lift to accommodate them. Yes, they shouldn't be rude and aggressive in demanding their right to the lift. Ni semua pun common sense and common courtesy jugak. Takkan nak kena list satu².

Common sense and common courtesy is to prioritise those who need the facilities over those who have an alternative choice. I can walk up the stairs or use the escalator. The family with kids in strollers can do the same but not with as much ease. Kasi la diorang naik lift dulu.

Think about it. When a suicide is reported, why do we want to know the graphic details of how they did it and what drove them to it? Why do we need to see photos or videos of the scene? Sensationalizing suicide benefits the curious at the expense of the vulnerable.

Suicide contagion is very real. Please, everyone, think twice before you share details of suicide cases. No one benefits from it, but someone could lose their life because of it. #SuicidePrevention

Suicide is a public health issue. Ethical reporting of suicide helps to prevent suicide contagion. The need to keep people safe trumps the need to publish sensational stories. Learn about the do’s and don’ts so we can all do better.
