Salem Lowe, home of the chop suey sandwich in Salem, Mass., is closing after 50 years. The Yee family is retiring.
I know people are freaked out by the pictures, but they are delicious and $2.43.
If you're in Salem, you have until August 14th to get one! And you should!
This is probably the last chop suey sandwich you'll see me post! I know how much you'll miss it.
After 50 years, the people who make them are retiring.
Under certain circumstances, families with a history of SCD should consider testing for these mutations.
Diagnosis of an inherited cause of arrhythmia can be very importabf. It can lead to getting an implanted defibrillator, which can be lifesaving.

Every year on the 4th of July, everyone in my family eats one of these monstrosities. They’re called chop suey sandwiches and they only exist in Salem, Massachusetts. They are repulsive slop and I love them.
Falsely attributing SCD to vaccines is misinformation.
Not only does this misinformation discourage vaccination (which is proven to be life saving), but it potentially discourages SCD survivors & family members from getting tested for hereditary causes. This harms people.

One more point:
In many cases, Sudden cardiac death is caused by an undiagnosed gene mutation.
Some mutations lead to cardiomyopathies (HOCM, DCM), others can lead to arrhythmias (LQTS, ARVD, etc).

To summarize:
- sudden cardiac deaths (SCDs) have always existed; SCD is a leading cause of death among young people
- the risk of SCD appears to increase with COVID infection
- terrible people weaponize these tragic deaths to push an anti-vaxx agenda
