Canadian Ukraine Volunteer AKA CanadianUkrain1 is gaining followers by claiming to be in Ukraine. He is not? Here is how I ran it down and why you should care. Firstly I began suspecting him almost 2 months ago when I first stumbled across his page.

The stories, the claims, the pictures, nothing added up. Every story more outrageous than the last, read like a badly written stolen valor novel. Then he started including stories as his own I read on telegram from channels I was monitoring on the RU side in soldier chats.

Why should we care? He never asked for donations, which is great. So he didn’t do it for financial gain. But Ukrainians and foreigners are dying for Ukraines right to exist. There are people that have actually dropped everything to put it all on the line.

Do what others have done and post a masked group picture with his claimed unit, Ukraine patches, unit patches, all things that do not identify him directly that others have done without issue or fear. He has shown zero that puts him anywhere near Ukraine.

Look for credible sources, support people that are credible and doing good work not those out there that seek to inflate their own egos out to benefit from the suffering of others in one form or another. I am not affiliated with the above mentioned people, but they are credible.

I think they're really hard to attack. Starting from their claim that multiple people runs the profile to posting media without explicitly claiming that those are theirs... If they're legit in any form or way, they could come clean easily, but they're not doing it for some reason

If it was multiple people that would mean the people on Ukraine could do exactly the kind of photos mentioned.
Multiple people was only mentioned/added after lots of people became sceptical.
Personally I'm convinced that this is a fake account where the user is solo in Canada.

I’ve heard other people say he’s a “stolen valor account” but I continue to follow him because even if he is sourcing the material and re-posting it, I don’t know where that source material is. I also have never seen him asking for donations. But, I am aware of the controversy.

This is a healthy attitiude. I certainly have my doubts, as I see some sources that popup in that acocunt's 'flow'. There is a good volume of sourcing, further underlining what points out: clumsy - really craving all those followers... pity.

I asked him about his rather strange posting behavior (rarely posting on USA nights, mostly posting at East-European Night Time - like 3:30 am) and i got *instant blocked* despite just politely asking/wondering bout this timing.

Laughable Russian troll attacks continue. From the beginning, said it was a four man group in Ukraine with a fifth in Canada. So assuming MeeMaw here didn’t completely make it up, which is not an assumption I make by the way, he’s only proving them truthful.

It’s a very interesting account but incredibly fanciful. There are multiple soldiers posting, some of whom supposedly veterans of the IDF, they are always on incredible adventures, they always kill dozens of Russians. All you need to know their # 1 supporter is Louise Mensch.

The claim is 3 individuals in Ukraine and 1 back home updating twitter from my understanding. There is also one distinctive photo of 1 individual wearing a Ukrainian uniform.

Desde que ele descreveu um "raid" nocturno de bicicleta a Kherson.
Parece que não é uma personagem mal intencionada - mas num contexto de guerra - brincar com falsidades paga-se caro, para além de ser ofensivo para quem realmente sofre.

HIs Kherson 2 day spy adventure got a few local people riled up. They have been trying to evacuate. Someone made public a bike route through mines to escape so RUS mined the path. He said he was spying & RUS should be scared of people spying. That gets people shot. He claims /2
