Good - an (albeit brief) apology has been made from the BBC. Yes his nan said it. Yes it was a long time ago - but unless you have personal lived experiences of racism and/or micro aggressions you will never understand why this is unacceptable. And what a privilege that must be.

Oh my days! I bet you've spent the whole weekend with a notepad & pen ready to jot down anyone who offends you. Probably gutted that places are shut so you can't ring anywhere to complain too. I heard Len Goodman say it too, but so what? We're constantly told British food's bland

You do realise that in 50-70 years what is being said today that people think is normal will most likely be considered wrong and everyone will be wanting this generation cancelled Nothing wrong with what he said at all

Get a life he was quoting his long gone Nan and I’d imagine quite a few of her generation would of said this when curried chicken was first introduced. Times have changed

You know you can't just say the word "petition" and make it a petition...you have to actually like, set up a petition? Michael Scott declaring bankruptcy vibes

I do agree with you, & there's a but... one day you'll be his age. You may well make similar mistakes, as well. We tend to want people to judge us by our intentions and not our actions, and yet tend to judge others by their actions and not their intentions. Worth bearing in mind

Petition please to get Chantelle in front of a Judge to explain to her freedom of expression/speech in England. Len Goodman needs NEVER to apologise for his nan! You, on the other hand madam, are a sorry state of affairs.

Seriously? It was a quote. From days that were far different to now. You'd have a REAL fit if you saw some of the early TV comedies!

He was quoting his grandmother. A Victorian. It’s not racist to acknowledge history. It might be to agree. Please try and concentrate long enough to understand context.

He was talking about memories people did say things like that I’m sure nothing nasty was meant by it, I wouldn’t be offended if someone said fish and chips was rubbish or cream tea etc let’s just watch it and appreciate the queen, people moan at everything !#jubileepagent
