Technical Course Developer

The Technical Course Developer role is responsible for designing and developing amazing technical content for Snowflakes customers and partners. This hands-on, course building role delivers online labs, tutorials, and on-demand courses. This job is a dream for the Data Engineer who is always mentoring peers on lunch and learns, or the Data Warehouse architect who writes the documentation for the help desk team, or the technical writer wanting to share more rich, creative content with the world! You probably already blog, write tutorials or videos online.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consistently and voraciously upskill on Snowflake and remain up-to-date on market trends – remember, you are the quick expert (or find out how to become) in the skills we enable for our learners!
- Produce new content and labs at high velocity, leveraging automation and modern tools for content building and rapid delivery
- Create technical hands on courseware at Snowflake, developing exercises, sample data, dynamic diagrams, rich scenarios and metaphors, and other innovative presentation methods
- Engage our learners online in public forums, and review feedback data to continuously drive improvement to content
- Collaborate as needed with subject matter experts to understand and scope courses and create outlines – talk to the experts internally and externally!
REQUIREMENTS
On Day One We Will Expect You to Have:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Data Systems, Technical Communication
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, systems architecture, database development or technical writing or education
- 2+ years of hands on experience in a technical role (data warehousing, cloud data, analytics, SQL, or ML/AI)
- Experience designing and developing training, documentation, or consulting materials for technical audiences or clients (formal or informal)
- Experience using content development tools (Camtasia, Gimp, Photoshop, SnagIt, Powerpoint, Visio/LucidChart)
- A demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
- Understands the benefits and practices both remote and asynchronous work and communication
It Would Be Nice if You Bring These Skills to the Table:
- SnowPro Core Certification
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and the ability to incorporate them into the on-demand content.
- Professional experience using Open edX LMS (or similar).
- Experience with markdown, pandoc, sphinx or similar markup languages for at scale publication of technical content
- Experience with product building tools such as Git (or similar), build scripts, CI/CD, automated testing, Jira (or similar)
In accordance with applicable law, the following represents a reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role if hired in Colorado:
- The estimated pay range for this role, if based in Colorado, is $99,100 - $131,750.
- Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake’s bonus and equity plan
Please note that this information is provided for those hired in Colorado only, and this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado with compensation that aligns with your location. The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending & health savings account; paid holidays; paid time off; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.
