韓国イチゴの"誕生秘話"について、イチゴ研究所側は「日本にロイヤリティを払わなければならなかった農家を守るため、国が品種開発に出た」と説明しているが、そうしてできた韓国品種「梅香(メヒャン)」は、無断栽培していた日本品種･章姫と栃の峰を勝手に交配させたもの。これが誇れる事とは思えない
