The NLCS gets underway Friday night in St. Louis, and the Dodgers have added Carlos Marmol and Edinson Volquez to their bullpen.

The pair replaces Paco Rodriguez and Chris Capuano on the team's roster.

Rodriguez being left off the roster wasn't surprising after he allowed two runs in 2/3 of an inning in Game 3 of the Division Series against the Braves. But Capuano's omission was, as he pitched three scoreless innings in relief to earn the win in Game 3.

Marmol, the former Cubs closer, hasn't pitched since Sept. 27, while Volquez last took the mound on Sept. 26 and has come out of the bullpen only five times in his nine-year career.

With Capuano out, J.P. Howell is L.A.'s lone left-hander in the bullpen.
