We are looking for a Junior Developer  to join the Torchbox Academy! 

We’re looking for someone UK based, who is keen to progress their career as a junior software developer.  As part of the Torchbox Academy you will have the opportunity to expand your skills and knowledge while working on live technical solutions for leading charities and NGO’s.

You’ll be working as part of the software development department, learning from the team and working on web-based software applications using Python and Django. 

It’s a lovely supportive team where everyone is excited about the opportunities this new academy programme can offer to a passionate junior developer.

The Academy Day will be hosted at our Bristol office on Colston Street. 

Some of the things  we’re looking for: 

Essential

• An interest in working with not-for-profits and doing good via your work. 

• As a minimum a sound basic knowledge of python programming and the core fundamentals of software engineering. 

• You’ll be comfortable demonstrating your experience with an object oriented programming language, preferably Python.

• Solid HTML / CSS / JavaScript.

• A good understanding of relational databases.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of Django, Wagtail, HTML5, React or another Javascript framework.

• Knowledge of mobile web apps, PostgreSQL, Git Docker, CI, Unit testing.

We would love to see any of your published thoughts or work in the form of a current blog or Github profile.
