In just a week, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the sequel to the 2016 Doctor Strange movie, will hit theaters. This new installment has been one of the most complicated shoots in the history of Marvel Studios. After multiple delays, on May 6 we will be able to see the result in theaters. However, there are a few lucky ones who have already been able to see 20 minutes of the film at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. Disney has been careful not to include many spoilers in this screening, but those who have attended the event already know a little more about the new characters in this film.
If one thing is clear Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness it is that Doctor Strange is a fictional character. If it had not been, we would be sure that this superhero would have done something to prevent his movie from being delayed so many times. The feature film directed by Sam Raimi began shooting in November 2020. What Benedict Cumberbatch and company did not tell is that a year later, they would return to the starting point, like a trip back in time.

The studio had to upload the green screens and turn off the cameras on multiple occasions due to the constant outbreaks of coronavirus among the staff who were working on the film. As some may already know, this week CinemaCon has been taking place in Las Vegas. A convention where the biggest producers in the film industry have been revealing everything related to their upcoming projects. Say trailers, posters, upcoming releases and others as was the case with The Batman 2 which was confirmed yesterday by Warner Bros. Pictures.
But since today it was Disney's turn to expose everything it has planned for the coming days. Of course Marvel, which is now part of the company, could not be left out of its exhibition and with. It new material from its most important project at moment that is Doctor Strange 2, a film of which the first 20 minutes were shared.

Then there is a discussion about magic, and to top it off the Doctor turns to Wanda to whom he mentions the multiverse and asks for her help.
So, as you can see, Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness starts too fast and apparently. This will be the rhythm of the entire movie that we are nowhere near being able to see the cinema.
Disney screened about 20 minutes of footage of Doctor Strange in Marvel Studios' Multiverse of Madness at CinemaCon 2022. The footage was from the first half of the film and establishes how Doctor Strange meets America Chavez, what the multiversal stakes are and what has happened to Wanda Maximoff since the events of Scarlet Witch and Vision.

In a cafeteria scene between Strange, Wong and America, she reveals that she is from another universe and that she met the Strange from that one, who, unlike the main universe. America is in the crosshairs of a nameless demon who craves her power to create portals to other dimensions and travel through them. She cannot fully control her powers, but they are activated when she is afraid.

So that battle where the Defender Strange was willing to sacrifice. America actually happened. America is going to have to trust that this Strange won't do the same to her.
We then see Wanda Maximoff at home with her young sons Billy and Tommy. She is baking in the kitchen and then tucks them into bed. And she then she wakes up. It has all been a dream, hasn't it? As we have learned from America, dreams are just windows into the multiverse.
Doctor Strange soon arrives to ask Wanda for help. She suggests that he seek the help of another Avenger. But Strange says that an archer or one of his insect-inspired members wouldn't do much good when he needs someone. As magically powerful as Wanda. (And, yes, Spider-Man is referenced a few times so no one has forgotten about him.)
After his first solo adventure in 2016, taking a cane with a Norse god in Thor: Ragnarok. saving the universe after Avengers: Endgame, and bringing Peter Parker to heel in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Doctor Strange is ready to face his greatest adventure: exploring the multiverse.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is days away from being seen around the world. And already promises to be one of the most ambitious films in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. A fact that unleashes the Sorcerer Supreme to become the villain of his own story. As his attempts to win back the love of his life they unleash a terrible evil that collapses their own universe. The interesting thing about this episode is that we meet a more powerful version of this character that could even be considered evil.
Wanda Maximoff becomes the great villain of the story: This rumor arose because in the comics. Wanda's terrible emotional problems end up causing her to collapse, and lose her reason a bit after losing her children.
