Our client, Japanese bank’s affiliated company, has an IT team of developing and maintaining the bank’s market risk management systems. They are currently seeking a person who has skills of project manager/business analyst to join the team.
This position will entail working directly with clients to drive system enhancement projects and the system maintenance work.
The Project manager/Business Analyst position requires strong financial business skills and would be responsible for planning the development, managing tasks and issues, designing, reviewing and analysing issues including writing specification documents, testing to support application system.
The incumbent will also be responsible for liaising with end users and deconstructing issues / queries and then assign appropriate person if anything needs to be done.
The position requires at least 2 years of experience in financial institutions. You must have a working knowledge of managing system development team and be able to rely on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
TYPE: Full-time, Roll over 1 year fixed term contract
WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday
SALARY: £55-65K depending on experience

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicate with internal colleagues to understand the needs of the organization as a whole
Produce written documentation to support your work, report on your findings and to present to stakeholders when necessary
Analyse financial data stored in database and business workflow then propose how to improve it and develop tool/system if necessary.
Liaising with end users and external stakeholders to drive projects
Handle issues arising from projects and production support(monitor, assign appropriate person)
Understand and communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes e.g. understand terminologies such as IRS, CCS, Option, Cap/Floor, Realized PL, Unrealized PL, NPV, VaR, IR Curve, Initial Margin etc
Challenge anything new to you and study by yourself if necessary to proceed with projects
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience (Master’s Degree desirable)
PREFERRED SKILLS
Extremely organized with strong time-management skills
Working experience as a project manager of either waterfall or agile development
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while balancing challenging
deadlines and client constraints
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high
pressure environment with changing priorities
Excellent English oral and written communication skills
Working experience in Japanese banks/ Understanding of Japanese culture
