Russia’s state-run energy company Gazprom cuts gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria
Russian energy giant Gazprom said on Wednesday it halted gas supplies to Bulgaria and Poland for failing to pay for gas in roubles. Gazprom also warned that transit via the two countries, which host pipelines supplying Germany, Hungary and Serbia, would be cut if gas was taken illegally. Separately, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russian “special services” are behind a series of blasts in a pro-Russian breakaway region of Moldova.
