It’s always so funny that if it’s a gender swap, aged up, body mod, or with another character love interest fan art it’s ok but as soon as the skin changes everyone looses their minds

People inherently understand that giving $50 to a poor person is not the same as giving $50 to a rich person. 98% of anime characters are fair-skinned, so no, whitewashing a black anime character is not "exactly the same" as reimagining a light-skinned anime character as black.
