In 2005, I began looking for a career change. I had been married for about a month and was working at a retail warehouse and it was tired of it. I wanted to do something more professional, something with better hours and better pay preferably. I heard of Asurion and applied for the CSR role. I had never worked in a call center before, so I was kind of hesitant to go to such drastic change, but it was pretty great. I had a wonderful team supporting me. My managers and leaders were fantastic. They helped me with any gaps that I had working with computers and then being on the phones. It was really fantastic to have that support behind you. Because of that, I was able to move up through several different positions in the company. Most notably I was a people services coordinator for a while. I did that for many years as the events and incentives person for the call center. And then I was able to move eventually into HR, which was a goal of mine to move into HR as a career. I am now the manager over four different departments in HR, revolving around talent acquisition, and Asurion has supported me the entire way. They've helped me fill in any gaps, they helped me while I was in college. It's just been the most amazing experience.
