Details on player experience improvements, upcoming patches.
Dear Gran Turismo Community,
Thank you for your continued support and feedback on Gran Turismo 7, your voices have not gone unheard. I would like to apologize for the frustration and confusion caused last week with our patch updates which resulted in, not only a server outage but also adjustments to the in-game economy which were made without a clear explanation to our community.
We know that this is not the Gran Turismo experience you expect and we will be making a goodwill gesture in the form of a non-paid credit pack of 1 million Cr. available to those players who may have been affected*. You will see this hit your accounts shortly. Make sure you log into the game before April 25 to claim the credits.
The patch update previously deployed was intended to rectify an issue with inconsistent reward payouts within a part of the World Circuit Events. But, to re-establish the intended equilibrium and provide more accurate rewards based on time investment and completion, it was necessary to recalculate the rewards system as a whole.
To improve the player experience, we will be rolling out a considerable patch in the beginning of April. The number of events will be increased, and we will reestablish the reward system with greater balance throughout the game to benefit all players.
Updates which will come into effect beginning of April:
- Increase rewards in the events in the latter half of the World Circuits by approximately 100% on average.
- Addition of high rewards for clearing the Circuit Experience in all Gold/All Bronze results.
- Increase of rewards in Online Races.
- Include a total of eight new one-hour Endurance Race events to Missions. These will also have higher reward settings.
- Increase the upper limit of non-paid credits in player wallets from 20M Cr. to 100M Cr.
- Increase the quantity of Used and Legend cars on offer at any given time.
Beyond this there will be a few additional patches deployed between now and the end of April which will add new cars and course layouts and make some other fixes.
Finally, we also want to take the opportunity to lay out some of the near-term updates we are working on. We can’t confirm an exact date or specifics yet, but will give advance notice via www.gran-turismo.com.
- Increase the payout value of limited time rewards as we develop as a live service.
- Further World Circuit event additions.
- Addition of Endurance Races to Missions including 24-hour races.
- Addition of Online Time Trials and awarding of rewards according to the player’s difference with the top ranked time.
- Make it so cars can be sold.

Still doesn’t improve the grind. Events in the “Latter half” give roughly 450k Cr/h, while rally and ovals are currently the best way to grind with 800-850k Cr/h. Doubling the rewards of the events in the “latter half” doesn’t make a drastic change.
So GT7 is aiming to be more “real world accurate” like the LaFerrari costing $3 million, that seems accurate, so is one bottle of nitrous costing $100,000.00
I would say it makes a huge difference, at the moment you are forced to replay the same few events over and over again to earn credits, which isn’t in the least bit fun.
In the future we will hopefully be able to play any of the high end races and earn a similar amount of credits per hour, letting us just enjoy racing.
It’s cool, we’ve got a way to get around your greed.

You “made” nothing in GT7 that you do not own. You wouldn’t even buy and support an Xbox game, you certainly never will a Sony game even if it came to PC tomorrow for 20 quid.
Now do something about the demoralizing and totally non-fun aspect of redeeming useless roulette tickets

I agree that after the updates the game will be better. But YOU, telling anyone what is ‘enough’ to make up for the debacle that has been GT7 is laughable. I’ve owned every GT game since the original, and have high hopes that Kaz is able to pull ‘7 out of the sewer. But people need to stop being a shills for this… Disappointment. It’s really quite pathetic.

I have a lady i sport mode and in daliy race. Who talks and say who in the race or left the game. And IT only on the version to my PlayStation 5. If I Play on the 4 game is not there. 🙄🧐😎

Been a GT fan for 20 years and I’m hopeful for the future. The game is good but still needs a lot of content/changes to make it great!
Make the single player content playable online. There’s no excuse for that, and you already saw what happened with the latest update. 36 hour of not being able to play, not only the online races, but all of the single player content too. Fix it. And don’t make the same mistakes in the next entries.

Trying really hard not be a jerk, but this is why modern gaming sucks. You’re not offering a live service people can enjoy – you are offering a service that has more in common with paying for a mobile service subscription or a utility in the early 90s, when everything sucked for the customer. This (and other games) no longer have anything in common with pure, honest fun. GT7 became a cash grab, a cow to be milked. A mule to carry bags of money obtained by cheating the player out of a great experience.

Thanks for listening! The game is fantastic but the economy needed fixing. Hopefully the online DRM also gets removed, but this is a great start!
When I was a kid, I planned on playing Gran Turismo when I got a playstation so when GT7 was released, I thought this will be the GT I start playing it. After the news, reviews, and discussion about the current state of GT7, I was discouraged. Even though I don’t have a copy yet of GT7, I am following the news on this topic and after reading this blog post, I don’t think it’s enough. The biggest turn off for me is that the single player aspect of this is that you need to be online. What gives? Isn’t single player meant that you can just play with just a controller, a playstation, and a TV? Greed is your downfall.

It requires an online connection because all of your games saves are on the GT servers and not your playstation. This prevents hacking which we saw in GT5 and GT6. Sport was the same as GT7. I like it. We all have internet or we wouldn’t be on this blog. Yes the internet goes down from time to time but its not really that often.

Same here – I’ve been on the fence about GT in general, as I tend to like less realism and more crazy in my driving games (pssst…Sony, bring back Motorstorm!). It sounds so much like a game I might like, as it’s very similar to games I’ve loved.
But what I learned the past week makes this a hard pass for now. Pushing us to buy DLC, and neutering the game if your connection – or theirs – goes down? No thanks.

I asked for a refund but will be cancelling that request today. The next step I need from you is the reliance on online. Not being able to play single player modes offline makes no sense.

Online only + Roulette are 2 big issues that still need addressing.
I got 3 Million car from the roulette, so I’m not complaining. Online only has other reasons than just to be online.
They need to eliminate the DRM.

PS5 GT7 save data = PS4 GT7 save data, … but TROPHIES ARE NOT !!!!!!!!!!
If PS5 all Cafe menu completed, PS4 three trophies cannot be obtained, so PS4 cannot be platinum trophie (or vice versa)

Correct. For example, Genshin Impact, another game that saves your game completely to your PSN account, does this just fine. You load up the PS4 version of the game and any trophies you have unlocked on PS5, or vice versa, instantly unlock.
This needs to be fixed. You literally cannot start a brand new game on your PSN account so you will never be able to trigger the code to unlock these specific trophies that HUN_hatrixx mentioned.
This is the first 1st party game that lets you go BACK to PS4 from PS5 and the save works 100% and you got this thing with the trophies wrong.

I’m sure people would appreciate if future details like this could be shared more often: I realise you probably don’t like to share details until they’re done, but I think everyone would appreciate if a “roadmap” giving some info on the future of the game was produced and kept up to date.
It’ll make it a lot easier for people to trust in the future of GT7: where from the previous “to all users” news post, the only message was “over time the game will be better”.
GT7 has a whole new community including many who haven’t played a GT game before (something I think you were hoping for all along), but that means there’s lots of players who don’t have previous experience to trust in you and Polyphony.

Another update this morning 25th March 2022 and servers are down again. Absolute joke and unacceptable by Sony and Polyphony. 1m credit is not enough for all these issues players should be entitled to full refunds. When servers are down 99% of game is unplayable I want my EUR 80 back.

For all you know, this dude has work and a family and had just 10 minutes today to take a break and play something for him (or her). Not everyone’s situation is the same, we don’t all have tons of free time to spend however we want. A short outage for one person is not the same as a short outage for another.
My kid got me hooked on Genshin Impact. Once a month or so they have a multi-hour outage – they announce it weeks ahead of time, and they offer in-game rewards as “consolation” for the outage, which are greater if the outage lasts longer than expected. Do they do that here? Give you in-game currency or a car or something as compensation/consolation for not being able to play? Why not? It would cost them NOTHING.

With all due seriousness, no amount of credits or additional tracks/ content will mask the true mess this is turning out to be.
Im sure you all know that the “Always Online” model is a dog of a move – forget about the pricing structure for your cars etc.
Essentially a single player game, it should be able to be enjoyed at anytime , and NOT dependant on your servers.
Remove this hindrance firstly, and you will have a much happier fanbase. Especially in the long run.

In previous GTS they screwed the PSVR support. In GT7 the PSVR is totally missing and moreover the ‘always online’ is absolutely unethical. This dev company lost credibility for me. I’d rather play less polished and megalomaniac racing games but having real fun instead.
Hopefully this fixes the 1.6 credits from the digital deluxe version I never received. 😞

Why is Gt7 missing some big names like Lotus and TVR? And why is there a lack of car modeld in showrooms? Example where is the ferrari roma etc?

How about fixing the prize tickets so you can actually win something other the lowest possible prize and make it so we can play offline. I have bought every grand turismo besides sport and you have ruined it.

I just started playing it last night and so far I’m loving it. Really glad to see how quickly the response to community feedback came too. That’s a great sign for the future of this game.
