It makes me incredibly happy to hear only positive things. It feels like far too long since we got a game that actually lived up to the hype.

Star Saga Show

I genuinely feel Elden Ring will go down as one of the top ten greatest video games of all time. I've never been so fucking impressed by a game before, but Elden Ring exceeded the absolute shit out of my expectations. I've got 50 hours logged, and I still haven't seen anywhere near everything. I found a random cave earlier that I expected to be a standard mineshaft, but then it opened up into a large self-contained area filled with ruins and platforming, and that was after I thought I'd explored most of the area. There are secrets and hidden zones fucking everywhere, and Elden Ring has consistently rewarded me for indulging my own curiosity and following my intuition when I think "I wonder what's over there?"

It's been far too long since a game not only lived up to the hype, but exceeded it. Elden Ring makes me feel like a kid discovering the magic of games all over again. Thank you, FromSoftware.

Schwerer Gustav, The 800mm Railway Gun

I overheard everyone at work hyped about Elden Ring last Friday. I never heard of it until then but they all seemed very enthusiastic about it. Perhaps I'll check it out, thanks Charlie!

This game feels like the perfect fantasy world I imagined as a kid with the open world and huge fully explorable castles troughout it

The whole Siofra river thing happened to me as well. Was doing the Kenneth Haight side quest and the river well is literally on the way. I got curious and sidetracked for like 2-3 hours exploring that area and killing the deer. I didn't even finish as I didn't feel I was strong enough to beat the spirits. This game is 9.9/10 easy, 10/10 with the fps fix.

The thing I love that I didn't expect to is while you are in mounted combat, and charging your heave attack, if you run into an enemy with your weapon it hurts them even if you miss with the actual attack. With my ultra greatsword I can glancing blow the first enemy, and fully hit the second with my heavy. It's a small thing, but most games with mounted combat are you either hit or miss with the attack itself and that can become very frustrating while you spin in circles trying to get a line on the enemy.

Just Some Guy without a Mustache

This is as close we'll ever get to 100% on the Moist Meter, this is basically the perfect score already. This game really does deserve all the praise it's receiving.

Elden Ring far exceeded ALL my expectations. The game is everything I wanted it to be and then some. Currently like 40+ hours in and I think I'm only about halfway though, but I'm milking this game for every microscopic particle of content that it has. I'll be extremely surprised if it doesn't get GOTY.

I found this randomly today. I legitimately got shivers when riding the elevator down, when it gets near the bottom and it opens up to show this massive underground expanse. So damn cool

I’ve never been happier to die so much in a game. It extends how long my playthrough will be. Love this game!

From what I've seen, I absolutely love the difficulty this time around. The open structure and bigger sandbox give you so much possible customization, it's like setting the difficulty to easy, except satisfying. I've always felt that way about Dark Souls, but it used to be a potential challenge to make things easy, now it's pretty much just a matter of wandering and gearing up where you can manage, looking at your tools somewhat critically it should be smoother than ever before. Also think about the difference in the grinding experience, you're no longer killing the same undead in the burg, you're just roaming and discovering things, marking stuff for later if you want.

Having a tribute for kentaro miura was like a cherry on top of already masterful game. This shows that how Passionate and thankful these people are about this game and about the source they got inspired from ie Berserk manga. Amazing game.

I think its good to point out that this massive dificulty with no handholding people blame fromsoftware as "flawed" game design is actually a massive step into the genre and the open world genre altogether. Fromsoftware has brought the choice to the player to experiece an authentic hero journey that leads you to your first boss, making the idea of bosses more serious that require more careful preparation.

Haven't felt this good playing an open world since Xenoblade Chronicles X in 2015. Truly a masterpiece.

This game shines a light on the sheer laziness and lack of talent almost every big triple A developer in the industry currently has. The fact that a game of this magnitude, polish, replay value, and sheer quality was released barely 3 years after Fromsoft's last game (which was also incredible) is absolutely insane. The rest of the industry needs to take notice of this and Fromsoft should be praised as highly as possible. I almost don't even want to go back to the mundane, uninspired crap that the rest of the industry has to offer. Elden Ring has set the bar insurmountably high and at this point I don't think anyone other then Fromsoft can top it. As a hardcore Soulsborne fan, I can say without hesitation this is the best game in the "series" and one of, if not THE best game ever made. This comment probably makes me sound like a complete fanboy, but I honestly don't care. Never in my life have I played a game that has made me feel like this one does.

Modern Otaku

I honestly never thought that From Soft could manage to perfect their formula any more than they already did. Dark Souls 1 and Bloodborne are two of my favorite games ever and I don’t think I’ll ever knock them down. Elden Ring just managed to take what they had and make it even bigger. It’s amazing.

10/10. My favorite thing is if your stuck on a boss, you can literally run away and spend hours exploring

Something I haven't seen mentioned too much is how incredibly DENSELY packed the world is, especially the starting area. I jumped on the PC release for the first day since I couldn't pick up my hard copy until the next day. I spent 15 hours in the very beginning area. The next day I picked up the game on console, breezed through all the notable things I found the first time around and then spent probably another 10 discovering new content that I hadn't found the last time before finally moving on. Not only is the map just visibly huge, but it's so.. complex and layered. You might have 2-3 layers of areas all placed on top of one another. You could have a mountain top side with a cave leading underneath that same plot of land only to find a hidden city/ruin a good 15 minutes further down. You'll end up spending an hour on one small section of map because of the intricacy and layers all of the castles and dungeons and caves have. It can't be overstated how good this game is, and if you're willing to dig for everything you can find? You'll be feasting for SUCH a long time on this.
