What do you think of China's assimilation of the Uyghurs, Tibetans or some Sinitic minorities in the south? I know that China is also forcing the Sinitic minorities to use Mandarin instead of their own language. For example Cantonese, Wu, Hakka etc.

Please tell me if I'm wrong.

Han, Chinese American, Taiwanese Chinese etc. I would grateful it if you could tell me how you would describe yourself.

About Community

A subreddit for ethnic Chinese who support the Enlightenment philosophy of liberalism. We support democracy, human rights, and freedom. Here, Chinese people are free to discuss anything that relates to being Chinese: culture, heritage, not just politics. The purpose of the subreddit is to have a community where all users are assumed to support liberalism.

r/LiberalChinese Rules

1.
Follow site-wide rules

No brigading, etc. We also expect other communities not to brigade us.

2.
Support liberalism

"Liberalism" in this context refers to the Enlightenment philosophy, not the American left-wing, which is often referred to as "liberalism." We welcome a variety of beliefs as long as they adhere to the broad philosophy of liberalism. No CCP support, and no Falun Gong support either.

3.
No bigotry

No racism or misogyny. In particular, the incel behavior that makes certain other Asian diaspora subs so toxic is absolutely forbidden here.

No sinophobia. This is a big-tent subreddit for Chinese people, including mainlanders, HKers, Taiwanese who identify as ethnic Chinese, and overseas Chinese. Other people are welcome, but we expect them to respect the wishes of the userbase. There is zero tolerance for sinophobia. We also frown down upon bigotry between different "groups" of Chinese.

4.
User flairs mandatory

In order to filter out "drive-by" posts by low-investment users as well as identify the demographics of this subreddit, user flairs are mandatory. Misflairing is a bannable offense.

5.
High-quality content.

For text submissions and comments, please add some new insight. For link submissions, make sure the link is to a quality source. This rule is laxer for memes and images.

6.
No misleading titles

Do not editorialize titles in a misleading way. If the original source has a misleading title, please clarify the facts in your submission.
