Additionally, if anyone has any old sites archived (dis.tinychan.org , bbs.shii.org , etc ) that would be helpful!

By the way, has anyone else noticed the following? In 24 Feb 2022 14:38:23 UTC I noticed that archive.is / archive.today is pushing out ads like crazy. Open any archived webpage at https://archive.ph/www.quora.com and you will see banner ads. https://archive.is/www.quora.com links to https://archive.is/b58MO - long link: http://archive.today/2022.02.24-143823/https://www.quora.com/Does-ISIS-have-a-website?share=1 . https://archive.ph/b58MO has banner ads which float as overlays over the web page; they are always there no matter where you scroll to. There are three of said banner advertisements: a fat horizontal one at the bottom, a fat vertical one on the left, and a fat vertical one on the right. All archived pages linked from https://archive.ph/www.quora.com have adverts as previously described. They are so in-your-face that the only way to really read the content is to turn off JavaScript, which I guess will make them go away. They cover up the text in the webpage that I want to read.

Also from https://archive.org/details/textboards :

This is a set of archives of various textboards captured near the end of 2015 after the sudden disappearance of the textboard secretareaofvipquality which nobody managed to archive fully.

textboards are similar to imageboards like 4chan in that (most) users are anonymous so the only focus is what they post, but they also are purely focused on text/discussion with no distractions from pictures. The range of topics of the textboards is NEET (Not having a job, school, work or purpose in life), depression/lonelyness, programming, imageboards and otaku culture.

Of course, 2chan should be mentioned. 2ch.net is now 5ch.net:
https://5ch.net/
subdomain: https://lavender.5ch.net/
^the biggest (mostly) Japanese textboard I guess.

Also there is
https://textboard.org/

Giko - what even is this?:
https://gikopoipoi.net/

Sorry for the double post. I am a noob. →/post.cgi (I think that is the URL): Instead of saying "That was VIP quality" it said "Error: post less". I just assumed my post was rejected by some anti-spam filter, and then, like a newfag, I tried to post it again.

2ch.net is now 5ch.net
Remember when wikia.com became fandom.com ? wikia.com was already kinda crappy, but fandom.com became a super shitty deletionist website. fandom.com deleted a lot of stuff with no warnings; the deletionist aspect of them makes the website not trustworthy and therefore shitty. I am glad that the Archive Team saved a lot of wikia.com or fandom.com content.

My point is that domain name changes can indicate impending doom. When Wikia rebranded as Fandom that was a sign they were becoming worse. The domain change was a hint of further drama or corporate Jew-y hand wringing.

I think I read on Wikipedia that there was some drama involved with 2ch.net's transition to 5ch.net
