This is a well-reported look into some of what went wrong. It’s also worth noting that treating the coronavirus as a blue state problem was a fairly widespread approach in the West Wing.

These are all Ad guys - they are all show, and no substance. Their bluster is pure propaganda and no product to show for it.

If memory serves, the standard for criminal manslaughter is usually "depraved indifference to human life" resulting in someone's death.

And any evidence you have of this should be brought up when they’re tried for crimes against humanity. If true, this was genocide.

No, it wasn’t. Criminally negligent murder or manslaughter perhaps.

It was a criminal approach by this administration — sacrificing the lives of Americans for perceived political gain.

Yep, I think that if proved, that gets closer to criminal conduct than anything we've heard before.

In a kinder simpler time there was a name for this:Genocide. Totally on brand.

Second time I’ll say this: Most years, learning the WH deliberately let Americans suffer and die because their states voted for the other party would be kind of a big effing deal.

Yes it was, not just the WH but Mitch McConnell as well.

Shocker, nepotism ultimately led to critical roles in a global pandemic, and it failed miserably, what a surprise. Imagine if Obama put his daughters in charge during a global pandemic, Tucker Carlson’s head would literally explode.

President Obama's daughters would have done a better job.

Went wrong, continues to go wrong, and will stay wrong until they either come to their senses or are removed from office.

Like treating AIDS as a "gay problem," the idea that viruses choose their victims based on lifestyle and beliefs only works at the beginning. They always spread, because viruses aren't picky.

I still can't understand that. Did they think the virus was a Trump supporter? Did they think that China engineered it to help with the election? Isn't that completely damning?

"Did they think that China engineered it to help with the election?"
Yes.
Yes, that's how they think, because that's the sort of thing they would happily do themselves.

And there is still no plan. So far we’ve got “it’ll probably get worse before it gets better”...and that’s it. No national testing plan, contact tracing, nothing...

Before he really started to try to start a civil war, Trump still viewed America as 2 sides in a war, where he would be happy to see the other side hurt. Most Americans draw a line with political disagreement far before that. Trump doesn’t care if people on the other side die.

You may be overthinking it: no evidence that Trump cares about GOP supporters dying either.
He seems to actively encourage them getting exposed to the pandemic.
Actually, there is evidence Trump cares about Russians dying: that may be the only ‘side’ that Trump is on.

So you knew that The West Wing was treating COVID as a "blue state problem" but didn't think it was important enough to mention or report until another media outlet reported it?

Kind of an offhand way to describe one of the worst scandals in American history.

Based on this quote alone, multiple people should end up in prison...“The political folks believed that because it was going to be relegated to Democratic states, that they could blame those governors, and that would be an effective political strategy"

Think of that - if Americans lived in a Democrat majority state - Trump/Kushner didn’t care if you died.

The idea that a policy decision was based in whole or in part on the belief that it would be mostly residents of "blue" states who'd die is the most explosive revelation since the pandemic began. If that can be nailed down it is damning beyond anything else that has occurred.
