BREAKING-(Reuters) - Russia's upper house of parliament told lawmakers to reconvene at 1500 GMT on Tuesday, an unusual move after they voted to approve friendship treaties with two breakaway regions of Ukraine. It was not clear what they planned to discuss.

probably a more open discussion about next moves. cost/benefit analysis. And yes, it is a ruling elite that runs Russia with Putin at the helm. Putin does not make decisions in a vacuum.

These are not “breakaway regions”, stop reverberating Russian propaganda nonsense. These are Ukrainian regions, invaded by Russia, ones that Russia occupied since 2014. There were no “separatists” - it was Russian army that had been fighting a war of aggression against Ukraine.
