Wow, Twitter has officially labeled me “China state-affiliated media”. As far as I’m aware, I’m the first foreigner to gain this coveted title. Let’s keep fighting the machine, guys!

My Twitter tag is now news in "China state-affiliated media". Proud moment!

That’s the default, so they only give labels to the special ones.

Dammit. I actually AM China state-affiliated media and I don't have that coveted title.
Still, I suppose you've earned it through your hard work. Congrats, bro...

I guess I earned it for challenging foreign journalists recently BUT ALSO on the count of working full time for “state affiliated media” which, I might note, I’ve never hidden and have always had listed in my byline.

Do you think getting the blue tick accreditation a few weeks ago caused this?
And, now you have it, do you see it as detrimental?

I think this is because of my recent run-ins with foreign journalists and ASPI who probably reported my account multiple times to try and get me labeled. Honestly, if it doesn’t limit my reach I’m honored to carry this title.
