Yikes. Head of Zelensky’s Servant of the People party in parliament claims Western media “hysteria is now costing the country $2-3 billion every month,” calls CNN, Bloomberg, WSJ coverage “worse than Skabeeva and Solovyov, top Russian state propagandists. nv.ua/ukraine/politi

but those troops have been there for like a year, you can find stories about them going back well into 2021, the economic damage he's talking about is from the recent panic

What kind of coverage is he talking about. The US Govt themselves have said that Putin likely to invade this week - that surely is more hysterical (if it turns out to be false).

Lol, Arakhamia is probably one of the least trustworthy and respeced deputee in Ukraine's parliment. His reputation is based on controversial claims that never find support within Ukrainian society.

Yeah, because the Wall Street Journal has positioned 150k troops, in three major echelons, to surround the country. They’ve been threatening unsubscribed home delivery of the print edition for weeks now.

Maybe just maybe when even the Ukrainian president is calling for the hysteria to settle down a bit you should listen. He’s very close to the situation I imagine and he doesn’t seem as worked up as American journos

Agree in some ways. Convenient distraction for Boris and also an opportunity for Biden to adjust his record on FP by being strong vs Russia. Macron - election (backfired.) But the hysteria was driven from int assessment which is justified on reality and was a disclose strategy.

While I may admit that their coverage was not intentionally misleading but all too often western media hyped on this war and relied on "unnamed sources". It pains me but I agree with Arakhamia.

Right, cause ROC’s entire military isn’t at Ukraines doorstep? This is silly to me, you’re saying you would prefer these media outlets don’t talk about Ukraine, the fact that Russia is about to murder your people and your complaining about western media causing “hysteria”. Wild

Looks like something a Russian propagandist might say. Do we know anything re David Arakhamia? E.g. found this article in Kyiv Post: "Arakhamia made trips to Vienna on Firtash’s private jet, says they were for medical reasons."

On point. Using this situation to get free weapons has certainly contributed to the economic consequences of the panic now being decried.

Should directly blame the WH, not just media.

US is “seeing critical units moving toward the border not away from the border” of Ukraine, @SecBlinken on MSNBC says of Russia. “So what we need to see is exactly the opposite."

And if there is an invasion and Ukriane loses their independence? Will they do an investigation on what effects it had in the economy?

It's just not gonna happen 1. The far right Ukrainian Nationalists will make it an even more of a ungovernable hellscape and cost Russia way to much money. 2. It would isolate Russian business interests and threaten things like Nordstream
