Would also expect the immediate border region with Ukraine - including all checkpoints - to be closed to civilian traffic.
Evacuation of border localities, too.

This is incorrect. The NLT time to be prepared for operations is the 16th. Everyone including Putin knows the Russian Army is not capable of hitting a NLT time on this scale. Assume they padded it by a week. The actual date will likely be the 23rd. Olympics end on the 20th.

Pure curiosity question. What does UKR Air Force do?? I see dying on the ground from missile strikes or dying in air with no Reliable ground or airborne C&C. ? Fly to Poland?

You summed it up, they won't likely get off the ground. Assets and airfields destroyed all at once is my guess. I would think that would be one of the initial highest priority targets.

They could begin with cyber attacks;
Aerial missile attacks;
Set off bombs placed by secret GRU special ops units...
