The announcement comes a day after Russian President Putin said the US and its allies have ignored Russia’s key security demands as his country has amassed 100,000+ troops on Ukraine's border.

Officials did not specify how many troops would be deployed to Eastern Europe or to which countries they would go. Last month, Defense Sec. Austin placed 8,500 US troops on “heightened alert” to assist with the defense of NATO allies.

Long before this, Ukraine should have been excavating antitank trenches on the Russian and Belarusian borders.

Or...An appropriate strategy would be probably to prepare for guerrilla resistance and urban fighting; it would make the invasion an extremely expensive business for the Russians.
These troops won’t be fighting anyone, they will be in nato countries to assure our commitment to the alliance.

Can we please stop calling it "Eastern Europe". Just name the countries.

Russian attempts at imperialism are why there is a crisis right now. Russia is the country currently occupying parts of Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova in an effort to keep former Soviet states under their influence.

Amazing how we can mobilize tens of thousands of US troops in a matter of hours and send them overseas when we haven’t been threatened-
But we can’t feed or properly educate our kids, make healthcare or housing affordable or keep roads and bridges from crumbling for decades.

Because maybe troops such as the 82nd airborne are centrally located near an airbase. Building homes, bridges take time for obvious reasons. The Constitution limits the power of the POTUS when it comes to spending but authorizes him to send troops.

ok so the USA send more troops to Europe and Ukraine. (what then if Ukraine decides it does not want a war, which it will do )

Whoever is in the shadows behind Biden running things is pushing hard for a war.
Sadly, no. US is escalating. We don’t need that.
