No direct translation in Ukrainian for "imminent" — that word is Неминуче & closest translation is “inevitable."
So when admin says "imminent," Ukraine here's "we can't stop the invasion."

Imminent - coming or likely to happen very soon.
Неминучий - unavoidable, clearly going to happen, of no doubt, caused by the circumstances.
Неминучий has multiple meanings; its interpretation strongly depends on the context.

The interpreter team may be underpaid but are doing more than a word-for-word google translate. Ukrainians are in fact able to describe that something has a high likelihood of occurring soon but also may not happen. And lastly, he speaks Russian. This is so silly...

IMHO it doesn't matters if the word would be imminent or inevitable, each convey the idea that it will happen no matter what. Not an issue of translation IMHO, but an issue of how it is presented publicly.
