Yes, he absolutely is. NATO has enough guys in the Baltic States to maybe by them 6 hours during a full Russian incursion, and there’s absolutely no guarantee the rest of NATO would rush to their rescue.

It seems that he cant stand the pressure, it seems like Russia and Putin has got a grip over his thoughts. That kind of speech is not particular wise this days when Russia acts through reflexive control.

I'm not sure he could espouse the wonderful and comforting guarantees of safety and protection from invasion that NATO and aligned countries have/are doing in Ukraine's case. What's he got to lose? BTW, someone ought to be strategizing how to prevent those takeovers

Maybe what’s questioned is just How hermetically sealed, albeit theoretically, ”containment” is thought to be, between a ”non Nato-territory” that Nato explicitely Wouldn’t bleed for and the neighbouring (obviousely affected) territories of Nato-members that Nato Would bleed for?

The Baltics would be more than happy to have their equipment returned so they can better protect themselves if Zelensky really sees this as being the case. The Baltics obviously need it more, right? Maybe NATO could divert aid from Ukraine to the Baltics instead, as well.

If there is an invasion of Ukraine and also incursions into the Baltics, NATO resources will flow from NATO allies to the Baltics, and will be diverted from Ukraine. Zelensky is stupid for even suggesting that.

He is right. If NATO won’t take a stand now, it won’t defend the Baltics either. After all, if keeping German gas prices low is more important than saving 44 million Ukrainians, then it is surely more important than saving 10 million Balts. Appeasement has no limiting principle.

This may be more calculated: Zelensky has the support at this moment. Ukraine won't be in NATO anytime soon, a sober reminder to temper expectations and signal reality based self reliance. It also acknowledges that NATO is not always a unified force counter to Russian narrative

If Russia combines an attack on Ukraine with a move on Baltic states, it's obvious the target was NATO all along. In that case not only the Baltic states but also Ukraine will have full military on the ground support from NATO, and Ukraine might also join by special merit of war.

I don’t understand why no one discusses NATO’s possible aggression towards Russia. Ukraine is now an ideal place for proxy war. It didn’t work out in 2008 with Georgia, it will work now.

NATO doesn't work. Whoever thinks that it will start a world war to protect small countries is delusional. But Baltics should not be worried. We should soften the rhetorics though and be more neutral
