Identity Authentication Service "J / Secure ™"
J/Secure is a service that requires you to enter your password when shopping online and authenticates your identity by using additional information such as your device information. Please use this service to prevent unauthorized use by third parties.
Please register for J/Secure One Time Password(TM).
When shopping at J/Secure participating merchants, a password entry screen will appear as necessary. You can use your MyJCB password to authenticate yourself, but we strongly recommend using the J/Secure One-Time Password, which is valid only once. One-time passwords can be issued in the app for each purchase, effectively preventing identity theft due to password leaks or reuses, and ensuring a higher level of security.

<About Fraud Detection Analysis>
- After receiving the J/Secure authentication request, JCB conducts fraud detection analysis using online transaction information and device information regardless of whether or not you are registered with MyJCB.
- JCB provides the following information to the fraud detection service operator (ThreatMetrix) and analyze the possibility of fraudulent use.
- Online transaction information
Information entered by the customer on the purchase screen of the merchant at the time of the transaction, such as name, email address, telephone number, billing address, product delivery address, or information registered by the customer in advance at the merchant. - Device information
Information about devices such as personal computers, smartphones and tablets that customers used for online transactions
(OS type, language, IP address, location information, terminal identification number, etc.)
- Online transaction information
- As a result of the analysis, if it is determined that password entry is unnecessary, the password entry screen will not be displayed and the workload on the customer's password entry will be reduced.
- If there is a possibility of unauthorized use, the password input screen will not be displayed and identity authentication will fail. In some cases, it may not actually be unauthorized use, but we ask for your understanding and cooperation in order to prevent unauthorized use.
- The information used in the analysis is stored at ThreatMetrix in a non-personally identifiable format for a period of time and is used for JCB fraud detection analysis as well as fraud detection for other organizations that use ThreatMetrix's services.
