Kyiv will be the most-defended city if Putin even decides to go there (which I doubt; he'll likely simply carve off eastern historical Russia-favoring oblasts).

In Ukraine, the more west one travels, the more "Ukrainian" it gets, both historically, linguistically & culturally. In a December survey, 60% in the west said they will actively resist in defence. It was a much smaller 37% that said so in the east (outside occupied regions).

It did. It wasn’t embassy staff/families that were the issue. It was Afghans outside the capital and those who did not want to leave until late in the game, primarily dual citizens having to make a very hard choice.

The first HGV was Apollo 11... I'm not sure if Russians had any scramjet anti-ship missiles, and even if they had they couldn't see ships from the shockwave plasma cloud, any such missile needs an active radar
