1970年以前の出版物に関しては、さかのぼって新しい基準を適用しない。すなわち、1970年12月31日以前に刊行された本については、依然として上記の10年留保が適用され、刊行後10年間、翻訳出版されていなければ翻訳権を取得する必要はない［archive.ph/F6X4F#selectio］。
