The University of St. Thomas has teamed up with Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory School of Houston to launch a pilot internship program to provide work experience to students with limited resources and a chance to reduce their college tuition.
Modeled after an existing work-study program at the prep school, the UST Rising Star Internship Program will give five incoming freshmen from Cristo Rey the opportunity to pursue their degrees while working as entry-level employees for corporate sponsors. The program is designed to provide financial assistance that will help offset the costs of tuition, while helping students build their resumes and marketable skills for after graduation.
