Sony TC-WR800 Belts
Hi All
I'm new to this forum so I hope I posted this to the correct forum. I have and 80's Sony TC-WR800 dual tape deck I've had it sitting around for years and finally got around to working on it. So far I replaced the belts which seemed to be all it needed but then I also replaced the pinch rollers just because it had been sitting for so long. The old belts were all melted on the pully's so it took some cleaning to get all the gunk out. The deck plays tapes now but will drag and stop playing and some time I hear a slipping sound so I'm thinking that the belts I put maybe a bit to big, 5 inch is what measure when folded in half. So my question is does anyone have any kind of service information on the model of the transports and the size of the belts that are needed for this unit. Hi
Thanks you for the quick reply, I like the video though I don't understand the language but at least I can see how he repairing it. Do you know what model the transports are, what size belts I need, my deck seems to be older so mine has three belts one for each transport and one for the tape counter. Do you have a good source for belts for this unit or my unit.  Thanks again |

I must admit I have never seen a wr8000, I've seen 801 808 and various others. Looks more like wr11.
I would contact Slavo to see what he has for a wr-800. Go to eBay and search Sony belts. Slavo has the orange stained wood background on his ads, he is my guy for Sony belts and rollers. I won't trust anyone else for we and wr belts. (Retro parts sk) Tell him the double decker sent ya Shipping tine is about 2 to 3 weeks the first time. Best of luck Miggy
