Updating the firmware of your Belkin range extender

This article will guide you on how to update the firmware of your Belkin range extender.  Follow the steps below to learn how.

Step 1:
Launch a web browser and access the Belkin Support site. 

Step 2:
Enter the model number of your Belkin range extender in the search bar and press [Enter].
 
QUICK TIP:  If you don't know the model number of your device, click on the How do I find my model number? link.

NOTE:  In this example, the Belkin F9K1111 is used.
 
Step 3:
Select your device.

Step 4:
On the product support page, click on Downloads / Firmware to open the download article.

Alternatively, you can also scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Download Software under Downloads / Firmware.

Step 5:
          Select your hardware version and click on the Download link of your range extender's firmware.

Step 6:
Select the Save File radio button then click OK.

NOTE:  Some browsers may automatically download your firmware file.  Images may vary depending on your browser and OS.
 
Updating the range extender
 
IMPORTANT:  Make sure that your computer is connected to the range extender using an ethernet cable for stable connectivity.  It is NOT recommended to update the firmware wirelessly as interruptions may cause permanent damage to the range extender.  Both the Belkin F9K1127 and Belkin F9K1126 do not have an ethernet port.  For instructions on how to update the Belkin F9K1127 and Belkin F9K1126, click here.
 
Step 1:
Once you have downloaded the firmware, open a web browser and enter "https://belkin.range/" in the Address bar, then press [Enter].

QUICK TIP:  You can also use 192.168.206.1 to access the range extender's web-based setup page​.

Step 2:
Click Login.
 
Step 3:
Enter your range extender's Password then click Submit.

NOTE:  If you haven't set up a Password, leave the field blank then click Submit.
 
Step 4:
Select Firmware Update.
 
Step 5:
Click Browse... or Choose File button and select the firmware that you have downloaded, then click Open.
 
Step 6:
Click Update.
 
Step 7:
When the prompt appears, click OK.
 
Step 8:
Another prompt would appear stating that the device will not respond during the update.  Click OK and wait for the firmware update to finish.

IMPORTANT:  Do NOT unplug, power OFF, or restart the range extender while the firmware is updating.

 
 
You should now have successfully updated the firmware of your Belkin range extender.
