Thank you very much, Princess Bethany, for this fun Santanic Christmas Eve audio! Yet what does Santa even mean? Well, let's consult the Oxford English Dictionary's entry for "santa" (see John A. Simpson and Edmund S. C. Weiner [Eds.], id. [Oxford, UK: Clarendon Press, 2nd ed., 1989]):
""
‖ ˈsanta Obs. rare—1.
A female saint.
App. ad. L. sancta, with assimilation to saint.
a 1450 Knt. de la Tour (1906) 5 For-yete not ... to recomaunde you to the seintes and santas.

And we all know how much of a true saint Eve was toward mankind via her bold act. So how suitable that we should honor her on the appropriately-entitled Christmas Eve!
Interestingly, within the various olden European lands, "elf" was simply one culture's synonym for another culture's "fairy". Two names that mean the same basic creature. The olden-time folk often thought that the fairies/elves were toying with them, when really they were merely attempting to impart information that those folks weren't prepared for. Though such magical beings were also mostly thought of as essentially innocent creatures, which is true.
And "Claus" is a shortened form of Nicholas. The name Nicholas means "victory of the people".
Interesting.
Merry Christmas, everyone! Yippee! I wish everybody the greatest on this glorious day!
And here is a picture of Old Saint Nick:

She's called "Old" for a reason--older than most could imagine. And she's already got her crown. Yet she desires to place a wreath of victorious peace upon everyone's head. Then we've all got our coronas.
Nicholas: from the Greek Νίκη, the Goddess of Victory; and the Greek λαός, meaning the common people.
May victory find all the peace-seeking people on this Christmas day! Yay!
