A Real Mess
Agarest War 2 is not a good game. When I say that, I'm not referring to cut content or any of the skeeziness. I mean that, as a game, it is not good, and it's for one huge reason: the battle system. Simply put, it's a mess. The first hour or so introduces tutorials for all its complexities, and none of them are helpful. In fact, many of them are given well before you can even make use of them. Two hours into the game, I realized that while I was winning fights, I didn't understand half of what was going on. That lack of comprehension meant that I'd never be able to form a cogent battle strategy for harder fights, which in turn ruined my ability to enjoy the game. There's also a huge trap during the character creation segment: I was given the option to make my character a magic specialist, but the game never saw fit to give me actual magic, instead forcing me to rely on his worthless physical attacks. Don't endorse terrible game design. Don't buy this.
Great JRPG
While some people clearly like to troll on the JRPGs or do not understand them I hope those people will not scare you away from trying out this game. Like the past games, all the girls seem to be at least 16-20 years old.. Even older if its an elf. While there is a "Breeding" aspect to this game no girls were forced into their relationship. You as the main character have to build a bond (just like in real life) before the girls would be willing to bare your child. The main goal is to win wars, and in a lot of cases like real life it is always good to pass on your genes before going off in case you never return. Great fun sprite fighting and a great story as well... One reviewer very far off and clearly has a vendetta against JRPGs and most likely never really played on nor understand the culture.
They tried
Don't bother buying this.. thing.. First they(ghostlight) never bothered fixing the problems who pague their games so you will get loads of stuttering/freeze/crash (and no, those major slowdown aren't bullet time). Second, the game is a big downer when compared to agarest 1 and 1.5. The whole battle system is tedious to learn and unrewarding as it's ultimately boring. There is plenty of better Trpg game to play. (or more so there isn't many worse..)

So while existing fans of the series will of course see some familiar features and faces popping up, newer players will not need to have played the previous games to understand and enjoy this instalment of the story.

One day, the world was enveloped by a mysterious blinding light causing terrible destruction. The central continent, from where the light is believed to have originated, fell silent and slowly, demons began to emerge and spread throughout the world like a plague.

Sometime afterwards, a young man by the name of Weiss, suffering from amnesia, encounters the enigmatic Eva who tells him that he has committed the sin of deicide. In order to atone for his crime he learns that he must become the "Vessel" in which the power of the divinity he slaughtered is to be stored. This power will be used to resurrect the one whose life Weiss stole, for those who betray the divine will pay for their sins in the space which separates salvation and damnation, as will their progeny...
