How do I italicize text? I forgot.
Also, I was watching "Game of Thrones" with my mom, and, spoiler alert, the following happened. Cersei Lannister had the wildfire explosive stuff setup beneath the main church in King's Landing. It looked like a green puddle with candles in it. Even though my mom saw all the previous episodes, she asked "What is that?" and said "it looks like antifreeze." It was obvious to me that it was wildfire, and I told her that and said it was obvious.
Sometimes I think my mother is dumb or not observant. It is interesting that there is a seemingly higher standard of judgement when judging your parents, family, or relatives. Not only is there a higher bar (the bar is raised), but their is baggage wrapped up in such judgements. One may antithesize: "Oh, you're just saying that because you are resentful of your mother." If one was to say that an acquaintance, a friend, or a random person is an idiot, not observant, or dumb, then that judgment (if justified) would be free, easy, and more accepted by the one making the judgment and those he is communicating the judgement to.
