I needed a car vacuum to keep with me, as finding a car wash with a clean-looking vacuuming area (with working vacuums) has become a real challenge. By keeping one with me -- one that's powered directly from the 12v accessory port -- it would eliminate the need for batteries or chargers or whatever else. That was my thinking going into the search to find a good car vacuum. When this one came up, it seemed like something worth trying as the normal price wasn't bad and it appeared to be compact.

In using the vacuum, it does plug directly into the 12v accessory port. It has a debris chamber that's easy to detach and empty, a good looking filter that's easy to clean off, and good cord length that allows me to get all the way to the cargo area in the back of my vehicle. Performance of the motor was acceptable, the running noise was medium and consistent. The suction developed in the front of the unit was about what could be expected from a vacuum in this category (the 7000 pa range, and there are a lot of them). Truth be told, 7000 pa isn't a lot of suction. The big looking number doesn't actually signify a huge amount of suction. In using the vacuum, I found that because of how the air intake hole is placed (center of the nose of the vacuum), it's essentially useless for direct vacuuming. You have to have one of the included accessories plugged into the input in order to be able to achieve any results at all.

Pros:
1) Decent suction level for the vacuum's class and not too loud
2) Long cord
3) Easy to clean filter & easy to empty debris chamber
4) Crevice accessory works well, as it also serves to focus and intensify the suction.

Cons:
1) Cord gauge is slightly undersized, resulting in the cord getting fairly warm during use. It's probably not going to melt or become a hazard, but it is noticeable. Had they gone up a gauge or two in wire size, more usable power would be able to be drawn by the motor which could have helped the suction.
2) No storage bag. The anti-scratch bag the vacuum is packaged in can be reused to hold the accessories, but it won't hold the vacuum at the same time. So, either your vacuum rolls around loose when you're not using it, or the accessories do. Not that I lack for spare bags, but nonetheless.
3) Can't clean anything without attaching an accessory, due to unusual placement of the intake hole.
4) All accessories are strictly friction fit, there is no latching functionality. This creates a clumsy experience for the user.
5) The brush accessory is mostly useless, as it needs the required adapter to connect to anything else. Why not just make the brush accessory attach directly without an adapter? The adapter doesn't serve any other purpose than attaching to the brush. Hard to explain that one. Also, while the brush/adapter can fit directly into the intake hole on the vacuum, the neck of the adapter isn't long or wide enough to stay in on it's own. It falls out as soon as the brush hits carpeting. You have to use it with the flexible "hose".
6) The flexible "hose" accessory feels quite cheap. The plastic is thin, and feels like it will breakdown after a few months of sun exposure. It also feels like it could be easily compressed enough to crimp or crack... it's flimsy. The molding of the ends of hose is somewhat distorted. The hose stays inserted in the input port while being used, but the process of needing to use one hand to hold the vacuum and one hand to hold the accessory at the far end of the house is cumbersome and without sufficient coordination, it is very easy to accidentally pull the hose out of the vacuum input. It's strictly a friction fit, and a minimal one at that. The hose should really be longer and of better quality material and molding.

In conclusion, this vacuum is functional enough that someone in my family will use it for occasional touch-ups in their vehicle. But, it's not going to replace the functionality of a more powerful vacuum from elsewhere (household vacuum, car-wash vacuum, cordless power-tool vacuum, etc...). It can't be reasonably expected to clean an entire passenger compartment or extract embedded pet hair or dried mud. It will, however, do just fine for scenarios where the user keeps up with cleaning their vehicle regularly and just needs to touch up between cleanings. I think this vacuum would be ideal for a family minivan scenario where occupants of a certain age drop food crumbs onto the seats or floor... it grabs crumbs (using the crevice tool) very well!

There was a missing attachment which was disappointing. However, more than that, I expected extra power because this car vac is wired not rechargable. Not so much. If you're looking to pick up superficial debris, it's good for that. But don't expect it to detail your vehicle. It does not deep clean.

Just keep this in the car when I don't feel like going to the car wash. It gets the job done for it's price. Would not recommend running for no longer than 5 to 10 minutes at once considering it is pulling power from your battery
