Rapid Brogue v1.1.0 has been released on Windows / Mac / Linux and web-brogue.
Rapid Brogue is a condensation of the game of Brogue into 10 levels, 6 to get the amulet and another 4 to master. v1.1.0 doubles the effect of strength potions and alters a number of items and game effects to have smaller number of charges or durations. The codebase has also been upgraded to the released version of CE 1.10.
For example, in v1.0.0, the long length of telepathy and invisibility potions meant it was too easy to dive from l4 to l6 and get the amulet under the effects of single potions. Similarly, the one or two tough enemies you might encounter were easy teleported away or polymorphed. On the other hand, given the short length of the game, having to kill 20 enemies to identify a runic weapon took most of the game. Thanks to all the player suggestions for these changes.

I don't think I got a chance to comment in the first release thread but Rapid Brogue is a nifty idea and a fun way to play. It's a great way to try weird builds. Like the Blinking /19 win I just got :)
A few observations I had:
Traps don't seem to scale with depth like they would in vanilla brogue, it seems like there aren't many traps even on D6. Bloodwort generation might similarly be off, I think I saw one on every level. These may just be a case of small sample size.
I ended up with 24 Str this run, which is more than you'd ever get in vanilla. I don't know if this is much of an issue but maybe there's further tweaking to be done to get you into that 19-21 range which where vanilla seems to provide most seeds.
Thanks for taking the time to release this and update it, it's good fun!
I won! Walked into D6 and the Amulet was right in front of me. My Ifrit definitely helped.
Just lost on Depth six with the Amulet in hand. A Pixie made my Phoenix discordant and she killed me. Kind of difficult as I was wearing leather armor with Dragons and Tentacle Horrors running around. Fun game!
Thanks for putting this out there. I REALLY love it! I'm not that good at Brogue yet, but I still love playing, and dying in Rapid feels more like a learning opportunity than like a "loss" of invested time. Having a blast with it.
Really loving this. Just a small suggestion. It's really hard to stay alive on L8 and beyond due to there being no potions of fire immunity. So unless you find a Fire Immunity Charm, L8 is basically as far as you can get. Might it be possible to add some of these on L7+? Thanks again
Super fun, I already ascended once which may mean it is much easier than regular Brogue, lol. Thanks for putting this together, this is going to free up an embarrassing amount of time.
It's just going to be one of those games...
https://i.redd.it/n6rwxto8rmz71.pngHow is development going these days, looking for additions, changes or improvements? I have some, including audio mod from 1.7.4 Brogue-Audio. What kind of changes and improvements would players like to see, and from those, what sort is more likely to be merged with the official release?
No rules, no time limits, just an informal sharing of experience. Post your results when using the date-based seed. These will be just as random as a random game, but more easily shared as a co-experience. Also, spoilers. Which version you use doesn't matter, but you might want to mention it when you share.
