And yet people still think ‘Big Pharma’ are trying to make money out of the vaccine (pounds, once or twice) vs the spend the NHS has to put out to for the above meds (£1000’s per day)……….

Thankyou for sharing facts & insight into you and your teams daily life of trying to save people who have been influenced in a negative way around the vaccine. Given you are at the front line of such an emotional rollercoaster I truly hope you are all looking after yourselves

Should this also apply to the overweight and alcoholics too?
After all. They are self inflicted too!!

Add in the Potassuim, Magnesuim, Calcuim & phosphate they inevitably need and then the CVVH filtration bags and meds. Add in the multiple units of RBCs, FFPs & HAS and we still aren’t even close to the finish line. The vaccine is definitely the better choice!!

Midazolam to sedate and Propofol to keep unconscious while ventilated. Just in case anyone read those labels and wondered.

I thought Midazolam suppressed respiration? Isn't that dangerous for someone already struggling to breathe?

Yep... this was triggered by looking at huge nursing workload the volume of medications is - we need to look at delivering everything we can deliver enterally paracetamol, clonidine.... long acting opioids?

25mg in 50ml - normal 2-12ml/hr. Or 2.5 to 6mg. Covid patients require noticeably higher amounts - rarely <8ml/hr

Wow so scary. I wonder if we will see a huge shift if these antivirals come into play. Will they suddenly deploy rapid tests so people can be prescribed them?
