With her patient-centric approach to women’s health care, Nikko Dunlevy, MD is known for her compassion and caring bedside manner. Dr. Nikko welcomes new patients to Avery Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology in Westport, Fairfield, and Norwalk, Connecticut.
Before medical school, Dr. Dunlevy earned her bachelor’s degree in international development, with honors, from McGill University in Montreal. She went on to finish a post-baccalaureate degree program in science from New York University.
Dr. Dunlevy ultimately earned her medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. During her medical program, Dr. Dunlevy was elected into the Kane-King-Kodek Obstetrical Honors Society for her exemplary performance as a medical student.
After graduation, Dr. Dunlevy went through her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Her residency allowed Dr. Dunlevy to receive extensive training in conventional and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. While serving as the academic chief resident, Dr. Dunlevy was highly regarded for her surgical skill and clinical research in obstetrics.
As a junior fellow in practice with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Dr. Dunlevy continues learning about advancements in modern medicine. She integrates both evidence-based and holistic approaches to care, so each patient can expect individualized, comprehensive solutions.
Dr. Dunlevy has a passion for serving her community and caring for the underserved. She has traveled and volunteered extensively, treating women with diverse backgrounds in birthing clinics and relief efforts overseas. Dr. Dunlevy even provided emergency aid and obstetric care to women following the tsunami in Indonesia and Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
Throughout her time overseas, Dr. Dunlevy developed a deep passion for women’s health that she still carries with her today. She’s committed to women’s health and the overall wellbeing of each of her patients.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Dunlevy enjoys spending time with her husband. She likes horseback riding, traveling, and going on culinary adventures.
