Ben Schumin is toast

Unread post by EricBarbour » Wed Dec 26, 2012 10:29 pm

All this stuff about Kazakhstan and Jimbo has distracted everyone from a squawk that happened just before Christmas:

SchuminWeb (remember him?) was dragged to RFC, during which many, many people objected to his arrogant way of handling deletions.
This led directly to an arbitration request, which was headed for acceptance--if little Ben would just show up and explain himself.
But he didn't, as is usual for him, his last edit was 28 November, just before the RFC was filed. He returned briefly on 20 December, as soon as it became clear that Arbcom had noticed him......to delete ALL of his talkpage archives and put up a "RETIRED" banner.

Another Wiki-Asshole leaves the fold, after FIVE YEARS of abusing the system. Also another anti-Scientologist. Funny how most of Wikipedia's early Scientology-foe-insiders have been leaving, or been pushed out.

(Of course, predictably, all the linkspamming he'd been doing on Wikipedia articles to point to his website...it's still there. Schuminweb.com remains on the whitelist.)

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Arbitration_Committee/Noticeboard&diff=530019756&oldid=529553472:
The accepted case is hereby suspended pending SchuminWeb's return to editing. SchuminWeb is instructed not to use his administrator tools in any way until the closure of the case; doing so will be grounds for removal of his administrator userrights. Should SchuminWeb decide to resign his administrative tools, the case will be closed and no further action taken. Should SchuminWeb not return to participate in the case within three months of this motion passing, this case will be closed, and the account will be desysopped. If the tools are resigned or removed in either of the circumstances described above, restoration of the tools to SchuminWeb will require a new request for adminship.

It's pretty funny how long it takes the communitah to realize when one of their own is rotten to the core.

He was and is a giant douchebag.

You can trawl around http://www.schuminweb.com/ and see a bunch of his idiotic ramblings.
He traveled to foreign countries and spent his trips bad mouthing the locales he was visiting for not being more like the "American heartland".

He was also a perennial exhibit at Portal of Evil.

www.poe-news.com

Since he was mercilessly mocked there he tried (I think succeeded) to get both sites removed from any mention on wikipedia.

Actually, Schumin was initially ok with PoE listing his site, and even started interacting with PoE. Then he revealed his creepy bondage fantasies to the forums, and they ripped him apart. And thus began the grudge.
