Sarah InceThe issue with facebook is they don't ban IP's for hate, violence, child abuse, pseudoscience, antivax, ect The only ways.you get banned is using a fake name, obvious spammer, bot from Russia or someone really famous who have used 1000 different chances to behave and did not (like Alex Jones). Otherwise you get up to 30 day suspensions but not bans. Further their algorithm is calling any linked article in a debate( if it's been reported) spam. It's pretty ridiculous to be reported as spam Because you shared a CDC link.

Denise Peralta-SmithI finally closed down my fakebook page last year. The reason, someone had threatened to skin someone alive because they disagreed with their politics. When I reported it, fakebook responded that it didn’t go against their community guidelines. The person went as far as to say they knew where the person lived, so it wouldn’t be difficult to carry out their plan. That was it, scary that fakebook would allow this crap, most likely because they agreed with the scary idiot.

Facebook, Instagram and other social media outlets are not the cause of people’s viewing habits the people who choose to watch what they are choosing to watch is the problem. People have lost touch with reality and want to believe things that line up with their personal ideology all while knowing that basic common sense tells you these things are lies. So either common sense is not common anymore or people are just plain stupid. My grandmother mother would always say when I was a child that the world will become “weaker and wiser”. I didn’t understand what she meant at the time and that was back in the 1980’s before any social media or internet was even thought of, but I fully understand now based on the events of the past few years. This is why we are watching the fall of this country in real time right before our eyes. WAKE UP PEOPLE or we will soon be a topic in history books like Ancient Rome and all the other great civilizations of the past that had a good run but imploded from within and fell.

Rhino XerosI joined Facebook back in 2007 and for like the first 2 years Facebook was cool. I reconnected with old friends from high school and even found a long lost half sister I never knew I had. Then Facebook went public with it's IPO and after that it changed into a monster. At one point I had around 700 friends and then the elections happened. I saw lifelong friends and family members say the nastiest things to each other. Everyone seemed to have a rolodex of memes and links at the ready just waiting for an argument to pop off. FB's initial intentions were good, Get people connected. Then once everyone was hooked up they just spammed it with nonsense to keep the users online. I hope it never comes online ever again

In January I said that the left in this country was changing the rules of what constituted a vote, and conveniently before the brouhaha at the Capitol began on January 6th they put me in Facebook jail for 30 days. A month later they put me in Facebook jail for something completely unrelated to the political sphere when a comment on a page for a law firm that has been going after the Catholic Church when I simply said that none of this crap happened before Vatican II. Within a week after getting out of Facebook jail on that instance I said that we are in a de facto dictatorship because of the way Biden is pushing his agenda and snap got put in Facebook jail again for 30 days the following time I managed to make it three weeks before getting put in Facebook jail again, having been put in Facebook jail around the time the Woodward and Bernstein book about General Mark Milley came out, when I simply said that he should be hung for treason. They said it was in Siteman and was advocating winching when it was simply advocating proper punishment under UCMJ based on what he already admitted. Essentially Facebook is persecuting people for what are essentially legitimate political opinions...

Anonymous BiscuitThis isn't a shock at all, the company has been doing this since the start of Facebook, Mark was caught talking about how stupid people were for trusting him with there content for free. So why is this a shock to anyone, Google does this also on this very own site and also Google + when it was up. The issue is these companies know they are helping making people nut jobs and they are laughing to the bank as they do it and people wonder why this nation is so *ucked up. I deleted Facebook about 8 years ago and instagram about 4 years ago and it was the best thing I did, the sittings in the app are pointless because the company is sending you the content not what you pick or interact with. I'm sorry but this is a none story and just making people rich because the stock is falling.

No1onU2beDo we trust the Federal Government to regulate "social" companies though? The product is "us". How do we regulate that without infringing on our right ...(forgive me please ?) to believe, think, say, do, and be stupid? FB has a point ...(somewhat) I would just want them to have to be honest about the who's, what's, when's, where's, and how's about the information, so that I can decide if I want to ingest their BS. If I do that's on me, as long as I'm doing it knowingly, no? If that's the regulation, then I'm okay with it ...but we can't have gov't telling us what we can consume. We have to be better at choosing what we consume. For starters, We have to understand Why we consume what we do. It's not All on FB, or any Social Media, despite their powerful grip on our Minds. Why are we so susceptible to the corporate/political lies and manipulation? Driven by advertising dollars selling us ____. Sure FB needs to change ...(wait - did he say $Trillion dollar ?? Company? ...yeah, I wouldn't hold my breath.) Devil's advocate ... We allow deplorable public education systems that don't teach citizens to Think critically, alcohol, cigarettes, toxins in consumer products, guns, political chicanery, big money bailouts, pension and retirement grift, a greedy-F U if you're poor health care system, chemicals in "food products", uncultured fear based policing, etc ...so why not just place a big disclaimer on FB + all posts sent through the feed, and simply let civilization continue to spiral freely? I say We each choose for ourselves and the minors in our Care - if we care to participate after the disclaimers and transparency. Don't force them to send "everything is okay" propaganda for us to scroll through either. Just let me know exactly what's behind the door ? and I'll choose if I want to turn the knob or ? based on TRUTH. Truth is the only regulation we need.

My newsfeed is full of posts from museums, art galleries, cat pages, antiques, house museums, pretty pictures of autumn and Christmas. My posts are of the same content. I have specifically blocked content regarding political information, divisive social issues, etc. If I want to engage in that sort of conversation, I find live people to debate with. I'm a historian and if I want that information, I go to reliable sources to get it, and FB/Insta are not reliable sources. I prize intelligence, reason and talking ideas, and there are far too many people in society that are willfully ignorant and intentionally stupid. In other words, to put it bluntly, 99.9% of people are just too dumb on those issues for me to engage in any sort of conversation. No, I'm not sorry. It sucks to be them. That FB/Insta's physical address is 1 Hacker Way...says it all.
