Se tert > Ti tert
He lives too much in the moment and has great appreciation for sensory pleasure. Not saying an INFJ cant, but Iroh doesn’t have a need to use Ti barely at all.
INFJs usually struggle to live in the moment, and are less likely to stop and smell the roses like Iroh.

INFP - SEI
He's clearly SEI, that being said if there was a thing such as "SEI-Ni subtype" it would probably describe him even more precisely. He is not ignorant of the future and often is more far-looking than the characters around him.
For this reason typing him as ESE makes even less sense as ESEs are actually the "Ni PoLR" types who are the weakest in use and value of Ni compared to everyone except LSEs who they tie with. But given Te's focus on logistics, this can often lead to a Te-based future thinking which at least mimics Ni to some degree while ESEs really don't have this.
You could look at all of this and ask - "why so much attention to Ni? Why not type him as Ni?"
While Iroh is not weak in Ni, everything I said about Ni can be applied to Si only 1000x stronger. Si is at the core of most of his major personality traits. Typing him as EIE is just downright idiotic for this reason, 1000x more idiotic than it is to type him as ESE.

So his consensus is SEI now? ENFJ and SEI contradict each other, so he's either not SEI or not ENFJ.

Iroh became my favorite ENFJ long before I was even aware of the MBTI. I still have yet to discover an ENFJ that I admire and adore more than Iroh.

I don't think Iroh being a 9 fits. We may be presented with a funny old man who likes to drink tea and enjoy watching the leaves change color, but this is only who Iroh is AFTER an entire life lived and AFTER having a very sharp change in who he was as a younger man. To type Iroh as a 9 would be liking typing someone like General Zhao as a 9 also.

(Iroh would later regret that he had not done enough during this time to better understand and guide his brother. Instead, he distanced himself from Ozai, believing that the latter's aggressive temperament and ambition hinted at a deeper evil. Nevertheless, there was a period in their lives when Iroh admired his younger brother's ruthlessness, namely when they were in school and Ozai proved very successful...)
(Like his father before him, Iroh was a renowned Fire Nation general during the Hundred Year War. Iroh enjoyed serving as a military commander and fully embraced his role as heir to the Fire Lord, later musing that his blood "boiled with desire" for power at the time.[20] His views at the time partially stemmed from a desire to honor his father Azulon and grandfather Sozin, both of which had fully committed themselves to the war.[21])
(However, as a young man, Iroh was a much crueler and ruthless individual, enjoying being a renowned Fire Nation General and reveling in his status as the Crown Prince, eager for the power of the Fire Lord,[20] as evidenced by his admission in the letter he wrote to Zuko, Azula, and Ursa after he had broken through the walls of Ba Sing Se, that he hoped they could see the city if he did not "burn it to the ground first".[5] He lost this desire for power, however, after the death of his son Lu Ten and his father Azulon shortly thereafter, being so distraught and grief-striken that he even withdrew from what was a near victory over Ba Sing Se.[20]
The deaths of Lu Ten and Azulon and losing his claim on the throne of Fire Lord filled Iroh with a deep sense of sadness and failure, though his journey across the world by the side of his nephew Zuko healed and transformed him into a kind and wiser man, changing his perspective of the world completely from when he was the Crown Prince and a general.[33])
Of all of the Enneatypes, I think the types which could fit such a journey include 2, 3, 6, and 8, but 6 and 8 in particular are quite focused on protecting others and their growth largely has to do with learning to not see the world as an enemy and letting themselves be taken care of, and I think Iroh's growth was characterized by him precisely becoming more nurturing and less focused on his own ambitions, like a 2 or a 3. Between those types, I think 2 is a better fit.

[...It is also important for Social Twos to make active efforts to receive as much as they give and to relax the manic tendency to work too hard. These Twos may experience a sense of omnipotence as a compensation for giving up their deeper needs for love and care. Slowing down and making sure their needs are getting met in direct ways can help them observe and work against their pride-fueled impulse to overwork. Remembering to focus on needs and vulnerable feelings serves to temper the important work these Twos do with a conscious sense of humility.]
I just really think his past should be taken way more into consideration to type him correctly. The Enneagram as a diagram is meant to reflect the ego and the personality we are forced to act as in order to survive this world, but what could be said of someone like Iroh, someone who found enlightenment and liberated themselves from their ego?

The idea that humankind can be one happy family can only go so far with Fe-aux. Most of the time, tertiary Ti will show up with its cynicism and will want to put a leash on Fe’s generosity. I really don’t see that with Iroh. His main belief that every living thing is connected and using his Ni to serve humanity rather than for its own sake all point to ENFJ.
