They also banned ppl from beaches and THE OCEAN when this started and test every single person who flies there. so yes extremely strict. And the hospital on oahu declared an emergency today.

Unfortunately you don't have a full understanding of the situation in Hawaii. In the last 6 months, Hawaii has seen a massive wave of tourism and new residents. Anyone coming to Hawaii must get a Covid test or have been vaccinated (under Hawaii's Safe Travel Program)...

2) I should know as I visited 4 times since Jan 2020. So basically, they have been letting tens of thousands of vaccinated tourists fly into Hawaii for a number of months now, at the same time when they eased restaurant and other restrictions.

They had better up their game at treating this proactively instead of reactively. The ERs aren’t giving out the best COVID advise lately. If you wait for shortness of breath or “blue lips or toes”, you’re going to the ICU.

Rates are up do to large social gatherings and Delta Variant. Majority of those hospitalised are UNVACCINATED! DELTA is a much more contiguous variant.
