MYTHOS DLC - Announcement Trailer + Steam Release Date

Nice but where are Thrace and Crete?
  • So bascially, we can track down the Lernean Hydra, beat it into submission, then use it as a bronze age war crime? Nice.
  • WTF TROYHAMMER IS COMING
  • Alright, the deal for steam seems pretty good, I’ll buy it.
Ranking of all Total War games I've played:
    1. Three kingdoms
    2. Shogun 2
    3. Warhammer
    4. Medieval 2
    5. Thrones
    6. Attila
    7. Rome 2
    8. Napoleon
    9. Empire
    10. Troy (haven't actually played it, I'm just still salty)

  • So what happens if you own the game on Epic but not Steam. I remember you talked about working on the possibility to port the game for free once it's released on Steam but will it actually be the case ?

  • It also seems like everyone is getting what they want, full mythology, truth behind the myth, and full historical

  • To be honest it look really nice. So epic version of the game was a real early acces and here on steam we got how this game should look on release, nice. However I will still pass on this one, as I'm more interested in Warhammer world and Asian cultures, so there is already 2 Total War to play for me and not enough time for 3rd game.
    Blood for the Blood God!
Among men, Lu Bu. Among horses, Red Hare.
  • Oh these models look very nice. An Age of Mythology total war is something I wanted for a long time. Great to see
Filling the white spots - 7 made-up factions to enrich the empty parts of the WFB setting

Now nobody should complain. Thank the gods of Olympus!

Hope it isn’t the last DLC. I still want at least Memnon and Nestor or some other Greek hero to blalance the sides.

Yes. I would like a FOLLOW UP on this question. Can we have a clear answer from the TW GODS ?

3 modes? There are only 2...

    Myth and Heroic
  • AGE OF MYTHOLOGY : TOTAL WAR IS HERE BOYS!!!!
  • Trailer looked good the price is a little more expansive then the expansions for Warhammer or 3K, but I'll withhold final judgement after I see actual gameplay footage.
Supporter of Shu-Han, I wish Total War Three Kingdoms had a Three Kingdoms start date, rider of Kislev, admiral of The Awakened and Elector Count of Shu-Han

Did you not read the blog? It explicitly states that there is also a new historical mode with bodyguards and stuff.

  • How disappointing. Hard pass for me. If I want fantasy I play WH, the superior TW game.

Was hoping for Thracians or Ethiopians… this is just… meh.

There is still the truth behind the myth mode and they're also adding a historical mode.

    That is Heroic, right?

So they will still keep the TBM mode

I already have the game and really like it. I don’t have a problem with fantasy elements at all, I just couldn’t care less about extra game modes.

I want real DLCs that actually add something to the base game. Especially since there are still so many missing cultures and Heroes from the Iliad.

This feels more like the laboratory 2.0… just unnecessary.

  • I am very happy because it is a solution that really satisfies everyone, so I will gladly spend 24 Euros to try this version too and support the sophia team! :)
  • Will someone still going to play Truth behind the Myth Mode?

I prefer to play Historical and Myth only!
  • Is GW ok with you guys reusing wh assets.

I disagree that this is unnecessary. I think it's a logical step for the title. CA is still retaining the elements of the truth behind the myth for those that liked it, but also increases Troy's appeal and replayability to other players that wanted more mythological. I can see this increasing Troy's player base and then CA potentially adding more cultures from there.

Yap and splitting the player base around 3 modes is not good idea because now you have even more wider needs for different player bases.
Better off they did more factions and fleshed out truth behind myth more.

A lot of people hated the weird mix between Fantasy and historical and CA made both a Fantasy and Historical mode. This is far from unnecessary, they are making both playerbase happy which is amazing.

What assets? Did you saw gameplay already? Is there proof of reusing stuff?
  • Color me surprised, with a bright shade of impressed!

Has to be said, kudos to CA Sofia for managing to juggle the different wants and demands of - essentially - three different player groups; players who enjoyed the "Truth Behind the Myth", players who wanted a full-on mythological Total War game, and players who wanted a return to the grounded battle style of older games.

    That's genuinely cool.

I disagree, I'm not big fun of Troy Total War but I noticed that majority of player was asking CA to either go full fantasy or historical, and here they did it.
