Note that no devices were taken from him, not his phone, laptop, nothing. So the actions taken by the rest of the Monero core team are just to be really extra cautious. Finally I got in touch today and Riccardo wants to assure everyone he's doing ok.

In case it isn't clear, the sole reason to remove potentially critical access is because he could be pressured while in custody. It has nothing to do with him being guilty or innocent or what we think about it. I'm looking forward to reinstituting them soon.

I see it as a likely temporary measure. Anyway, In the mean time I'll make myself accountable for tightening any security issue stemming from the current situation.

's being offline and in custody, the Monero core team has removed all his admin and write permissions over Monero repos. I've also just moved the 5577 XMR from the General Fund to another wallet he has no access to.

Even if view key of donation address is public, that slipped mostly unnoticed: on 18th of April, day of #Monero 7th anniversary, someone anonymously donated 1020 #XMR (including 420 XMR single output) to general fund. Anonymous, stealth, close to half a million$. Punk af.

Privacy is more precious than time or money. When you lose money you can still accumulate more. Usually, even if you lose some time today, you still have tomorrow. But once your privacy is lost it's gone forever, irreplaceable.

Be good in 2021, and push for everyone to accept #Monero directly. Refuse to compromise your financial privacy when you pay a merchant!

Iran is about to step up its game against local Bitcoin miners. This might take the form of following both the power grid consumption and the resell of any BTC proceeds (in theory they had already put constraints on that). Interesting to see how it will play out.

Release likely tomorrow it seems. HNY btw! In 2021 remember: by default we're losing privacy continuously, and nowadays quickly. Unless we actively fight for it, build for it. It's not easy, it takes efforts and involves trade-offs. Choose wisely, and remain epic to your choices
