Special Containment Procedures: The object has to be locked away in a completely light-proof (380nm to 720nm) 3m x 3m x 3m chamber located at least 1km in the underground. The insides of the chamber have to be painted with "super black", which needs to absorb at least 99,6% of incoming light. The chamber must be made of a material that has great heat-insulating properties, so that no heat can enter SCP-5654's chamber. SCP-5654 must be kept at temperatures below -100°C at all times via cooling system. The cooling system must have backup batteries in case of a power failure. Violating the specified temperature-scale results in SCP-5654's visible light to pass through solid non-transparent matter and in stronger heat generation; This anomalic ability strengthens the more the specified temperature limit gets violated. A dense black half-spherical shielding must be on top of SCP-5654 to protect personnel entering the chamber. Touching the object results in severe burns.

Perceiving SCP-5654, or it's emitted light with your eyes must be avoided at all times. Recording videos of it is strictly forbidden, as it's light will be emitted through them. However, photos of SCP-5654 have proven to be safe.

Entering SCP-5654's chamber requires an insulated suit, as the chamber is extremely cold. The most important asset however is an eyeshield that blocks any light that could reach your eyes.
The chambers doors must be closed before removing SCP-5654's additional shielding.

Description: SCP-5654 appears to be a prism in the form of a pyramid. Currently, it is unknown if it is sentient or not. It has a length of 9cm on each side and a height of 11,5cm. The surroundings in the photo of SCP-5654 are completely black, but this is because of the "super black" surfaces within it's containment chamber. The light within SCP-5654 resembles the sun, as told by authorized personnel viewing photos of it. Being a sun could also be an explanation why it is constantly generating heat out of nowhere.

Subjects perceiving SCP-5654's emitted light directly for at least 4 seconds without protection will experience their vision's colors, as well as the color of their eyes becoming completely inverted. (Note: The time will NOT reset, when reengaging with SCP-5654 at a later time.) Brown eyes would become blue and green eyes would become purple, as an example. Subjects also claim to see colors they have never seen before. Victims of these effects complain about mild to severe headaches and pain in their eyes. However, it is currently unknown if the pain is a product of SCP-5654's effects, or the product of the victims brain having difficulties processing a world with inverted colors. They are also prone to developing severe anxiety and try to warn others of "impending doom".

When subjects are 16 seconds or longer directly exposed to the effects of SCP-5654 the pupils of victims become mesh-like patterns displaying every color within the visible spectrum including infrared and ultraviolet; They also show a big desire to look at the sun. When given this opportunity, they will stare right into the sun without ever blinking once until sunset. Subjects in this stage are refered to as SCP-5654-1. They will keep their sanity for about 1-2h after the incident. After exactly 56 hours after being exposed to SCP-5654, instances of SCP-5654-1 refer to the prism as their creator who they have to set free and will try to get as close as possible to it.

If SCP-5654-1 has the opportunity to get within the light of SCP-5654 a second time after 56 hours, they explode into a hot powerful flash of orange light right before getting absorbed into SCP-5654. SCP-5654 appears to permanently shine brighter and more powerful afterwards, while generating more heat than before at the same time. Because of this, instances of SCP-5654-1 are to be terminated immediately.

There are currently ████ estimated casualities due to SCP-5654. It was found on an lone island in the [REDACTED] ocean. The island has human structures resembling those of ancient south american civilisations. Within the biggest temple found on the island, SCP-5654 was reported having melted a 9m deep and 40cm wide hole into the floor. The only life on the island that could be found were rainworms; Derived from that, every lifeform with eyes is affected by SCP-5654 and will die through sacrificing themselfes to SCP-5654 if exposed too long. Human population of the island before the "great sacrifice" is estimated at approximately ████. 5 Peronnel turned to SCP-5654-1 during the securing of SCP-5654, as it's anomalous effects were unknown at this point. █ D-class were tested with SCP-5654, further testing is strictly forbidden.

It is theorized by several doctors on Site-██ that SCP-5654 might "break free" after absorbing "enough" instances of SCP-5654-1. They fear that it might lead to a XK-scenario that ends all life on earth, if not contained properly.
