Just in case quarantined Paris wasn’t disorientating enough: my neighbourhood was being used as a film set when the lockdown hit. Now the whole block has been left frozen in 1941

It's called Adieu Monsieur Haffmann. It's on IMDB. (I shared some pics on my IG + saved a Stories highlight which includes some scenes)

Well, as long as you have the ration card and avoid those nasty patrols...

John Google-Earthed it. It doesn’t look dramatically different today! Lovely place to be in lockdown. Do you know the name of the film?

Haha yeah, some of the facades were just left as they are, since they clearly already fit the bill. No idea what the film will be, but keep an eye out for these backdrops

Enjoy the old times but take shelter when the air-aide sirens sound the alarm

1941. Bummer. They can come and leave my neighborhood in, say, 1928, anytime. But not Paris in '41 .

Don't complain!
Covid19 only happens in 2019, so you are OK back in 1941.

Any idea what 'benre' means in the first picture? It's not a word I've come across and Google/dictionary isn't giving me anything.

At least there aren't any Wehrmacht soldiers patrolling the streets.

WOW. I used to live near that area and can't believe it's so empty. I was on holiday in Toulouse when the lockdown was announced, and Ireland felt weirdly normal comparatively (and we are supposed to quarantine 14 days after coming back from abroad, but no-one is checking...)

Looks a bit like Montmartre if so the cobbles or ‘pavés’ would be real

I mean, you could have been transported to 1941 but would you notice? Corona is basically the Germans.

It's like the inside of the mind of a Patrick Modiano protagonist seeing ghosts of the occupation everywhere.
