PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
I've been tracking down, unpacking, converting and archiving all of the Old Vintage (and some Rare) Sample Packs/CDs I managed to find in the past 3 Years and recently decided to upload them all here for easy access and for the sake of preservation.
Everything is stored in WAV unless otherwise is stated at the end of the File Name. Keep in mind these are really old and haven't been ripped by me to begin with, so a few tracks may sound glitchy or outright corrupted, nothing I can do about it.
Just click on ''SHOW ALL'' to the right to see the full list of contents

HOW TO DOWNLOAD:
I know many of you miss the Torrent file for this Item, but after thinking about this for a long time, I came to the conclusion that it's just never going to work. I keep adding new files for this Item and everytime I do that, the Torrent file will break, so here's a much better solution that will work on every Operating System:

Super simple to use and I just tested it myself, just copy and paste the URL of this in the software and that's it.

UPDATE:
Some people reported that most of these archives cannot be opened or are corrupted, that's just not the case, the problem is that I wasn't really thinking about Apple MAC OS' users while uploading these, I apologize. I think I may have found a solution however, try this one: https://www.keka.io/en/
Please feel free to extract and share these around to others it'll be appreciated! Just do not sell these or put them behind a paywall please. Suggestions are always welcome but unfortunately more often than not, I just can't find what I'm looking for, as everything seems to be hard to find and/or way too expensive to get.

hello CyberYoukai.
Thank you very much for your answer and also for that link! in fact, I already found a download link that does work. I'm really sorry for bothering you, it's that since I listened to the audio demo of that sample pack, I've been interested in incorporating it into my songs. Thank you very much and keep it up!

I regularly submit everything I download using total viruses, and various antivirus. More than once I have downloaded archives here on archive.org with infected files inside. An example that comes to mind now are some twilight CD collections, some of them contain archives with infected files inside, but if you scan the iso you will not find anything, the surprise comes once you start extracting the individual self-extracting exes or various archives.
you must understand that most of the time the archives can be protected or compressed and antivirus (including virustotal and its numerous engines) cannot always intercept the content so (even if dangerous) it is always better to extract the archives first, it is ideal it would be doing it with a sandbox so as not to put your PC at risk.
In my experience, I never downloaded that sample pack that was reported, but all the ones I downloaded here from cyberyokai I always scanned and they were all clean, but then again, I have more than once found files with Virus here on archive.org.
so please don't give bad information around if you don't know what you are talking about.
As for the reply to my message, thank you for the advice on documentaries, even if the question of sample companies that "can get royalties on the tracks developed in a specific album but not on small samples of these recombined tracks is not clear to me. a new job "
this is not an answer to the question that everyone asks themselves, or rather, it is a little vague. So in theory you are saying that I can use their mixed samples in my original tracks without repercussions? if you meant this I inform you that it is the same companies like Zero-g etc. that affirm this but it is only possible if I had a license on those samples after purchasing them .... so all in all I think you didn't understand my true question (which is a bit what we all do) and that is: do these companies have a way to carry out checks on licenses? if so, how? if the answer is yes, then the scenario I proposed in my previous post is less catastrophic and imaginative than it seems, even if (and it seems you didn't understand it) I never claimed that it was really so, but it was just a guess, my fear of a possible scenario, and no, I do not use drugs but yes, I do not have a good command of the English language however I am sure that my concept was clear enough then it is up to the reader and his intelligence to understand and argue without the need to insult.

Hi, sorry for my English but it is not my native language.
I've always thought that probably if they never reported here it's not that good. it could also be a gain for them.
In the sense, here will have way to proliferate and these samples could spread and mix and expand throughout the network.
among all this spread, it multiplies the possibility for these companies like Zero-G, Spectrasonics etc. to be able to come across samples they own, and start earning money by asking for a share of the profits for any earnings from these musicians.
have you ever heard of Copyright Troll? well something very, very similar.
So on the one hand i would say to be careful but on the other hand if all this seems absurd then we should start to make some clarity. and think how unlikely it is that these companies can sue you even if you write an album with which you earn and you use (for example) the sample taken from Distorted Reality by Spectrasonics.
practically all the samples of this Distorted Reality are present in the vst Omnisphere, which is a VST that is sold at 300$ more or less.
well now you tell me since when the musician also professional must give account of the instruments that he uses? as for example:
synthesizers with factory presets, samplers, vst etc.
it's like if ableton or Reason studios come to you to check if you have their license and if you used their factory samples for your album.
I've been a musician for 10 years and I'm always afraid to use these samples because I don't want to sell my songs on bandcamp (I sell a lot of them) and then end up with some lawsuit.
the fact is that I would like to use some of these samples such as those of Gigabyte simply as a tribute to all the sounds that surrounded me in my childhood, I do not use these to sell my product better, especially because most of these are outdated samples in terms of quality and inferior to today's samples.
Can you see Gigabyte samples being added to a new collection? have you ever heard the quality of these, it seems too poor. (or well I honestly like it that way)
What bothers me the most is that when you ask in the forums and all over the web they always answer in a cryptic way as if they did not want to talk about it as if this should remain a taboo. But if many of these I can not buy why should remain unused!?
It's really ridiculous, you can tell that generally you tell bullshit just for the purpose of making it a deterrent.
if it is not so then someone please explain me better because it is really frustrating all this.__

Pls, consider that there are other users who have been responsible for sharing a part of the contribs of this compilation so do not reduce the responsibility to this item only (by the way, this is mentioned in the description of this item). Besides that you said that the companies that make these samples seek to persecute those who use it, I suppose it must have been a writing error or you were dope while writing. Should you watch some documentaries like Can I Get An Amen? (2004) or Scratch (2001), especially in the latter the part that tells the story of DJ Shadow and the production of music with samples in early of the 90s. It could even be said that companies that distribute sample CDs cannot exercise absolute property over them, since they cannot appropriate certain sounds or rhythm sequences, even if they declare them as compound sounds, in the same way as no one can copyright the recording of the noise of a V8 engine. Imagine the creator of the V8 engine saying that his machine noise (a compound sound) is of his copyright property because he invented it. In summary, these companies can get royalties on developed tracks on a specific album, but not on small samples of these tracks recombined in a new work.

Sorry, but what you said is wrong. I just scanned the "NiceBeats - SynthLine VOL-12 (.bin+.cue).7z" package in VirusTotal (using the scan from url function), and I got no detection:
https://www.virustotal.com/gui/url/b9e4fb7c6d09349f978858d3ea81756f1c03fce9a269b3eefb813c75223248b2/detection
It's impossible that there's any "nasty" file since the Internet Archive system analyzes each uploaded file, and in case of positive detection it's automatically deleted.
It must be problem of your Mac system. Btw if you have money to produce using a Mac, then you shouldn't be shy about buying the original sample CDs to avoid such problems.

Looks like there's something nasty in NiceBeats - SynthLine VOL-12 (.bin+.cue).7z
I'm a mac user running the free version of Sophos Home and it threw up an alert when I was uncompressing the contents of the above. Ran some of the files/folders through virustotal.com as well and there definitely seems to be something funky in there. I'm not really a tech guy so can't say anything more precise than that and didn't make any notes of what the virus scans said, just got scared and deleted the files.
I hate to post something negative but this just happened (I'm working my way down the list). What an amazing archive and amazing effort by CyberYouKai. Thanks for your work, it's greatly appreciated.

Subject: Very nice collection!
Subject: Very nice collection!
Please forgive my English - I live in central Europe and my skills using English can be different than yours (maybe worse than yours).
It's a very nice collection of really old sample CDs and Audio sample libraries (CDDA). Considering most of this stuff are abandonware and they're not even sold now, I must admit that this archive has some meaning.
Even though some sample libraries are sold to these days because they're iconic like those from Spectrasonics, Best Service, Zero-G etc.
Well... we can argue if these sample CDs can be stored here. I'm not a lawyer and I think archives serve as a resource for future studies and in this case for personal use (not commercial). In this case I do not judge.
Mr. Persing may had his copyright infringement speech in every Spectrasonics CD but I think those are legacy sample libraries. Most if not all those samples have their exact place in VSTs developed in the last 20 years like Stylus RMX (Backbeat, Metamorphosis, Liquid / Burning Grooves, Retro Funk), Omnisphere (Bizzare Guitar, Heart Of Africa / Asia...), Trilian (Bass Legends) so if You are not making profit of this legacy samples, you can use them under certain circumstances.
@Geoff462 claims that converting HW sampler's CDs to raw Wave file is considered a huge loss. In some cases... it really IS a huge loss (for example - Orchestral libraries use a lot of sample mapping and velocity layers, which will definitely be lost converting an entire CD to wave).
In other cases - if an entire CD contains only drum samples, breaks, loops etc, or some FX stuff and experimental pads, drones, you can live with WAV samples.
Having AKAI CDs means to have additional sotware for converting programmes one by one or an entire CD. If you want to, just buy e.g CD Extract, Extreme Sample Converter or Translator by Chicken Systems, but have in mind that these CDs are very old and if you really want to use those big libraries (orchestral, bass etc.) there are more modern sample libraries or VSTs now.
Plus AKAI is a dead format for discontinued sampler.
Converters mentioned up there are not actively developed but they're doing their job pretty well. They can convert AKAIs to well known sampler formats (including Kontakt, NN-XT, SF2, SFZ ...)
Translator can convert CDs to latest samplers like Ableton Live's sampler or Bitwig's sampler but I haven't tried that, because behaviour of this convertor is unpredictable (for some formats).
What I'm trying to say here, if you have some understanding of how musical instruments are played or how they sound by playing them with certain velocity, You can easily use these WAVE files and create a new sampler patch and not spending money on converters. Of course I'm not telling you to recreate all the mappings for an orchestral library that would be very tedious. But having like 5 samples with certain pitch, it's relatively easy to map it to your favourite sampler.
Most of these libraries are usable to these days especially Spectrasonics sample libraries and Zero-G. Even those iconic Jungle / Rave loops by E-Lab (entire Ratchet and Clank Trilogy used those and even those which are not listed here).
Thanks for this collection, I'm impressed!

I haven't tried all the packs to say for sure which are corrupted or damaged, if any, but the few I've grabbed (Zero-G's Jungle Warfare and Jungle Frenzy) work great. Win 10 user, extracted with 7-Zip. Not sure where the issues for other people are popping up.

First of all I want to thank CyberYoukai for this fabulous contribution since I had several of these old CDs damaged and the fact of finding this backup has allowed me to recover them =)
@Geoff462
Undoubtedly a review made for the sole purpose of censoring, since if you consider that such material infringes copyright, then why complain that some files are not in your wanted original presentation format? (contradictory observation, since if you want to adjust to your quality standards and you have said seen some of these files for sale in its original format, then simply go buy it).
> ".. most sample disks are not just a set of sound files in a folder. The format of a sample disk, be it EMU, Akai, Roland, Ensoniq, Giga or whatever"
These proprietary storage formats are often incompatible with each other, greatly hindering the option of combining samples and making loops from different sources, among other limitations. For those of us who work using VSTs in a DAW, usually find it more convenient and compatible to have the samples in a set of different wav/mp3 files. This format is also for those who work with old low memory computers or keyboards and are looking to create their custom floppy disks or cds without having to translate/converting the original limited formats.
Regarding the copyright issue, we must not forget that not everything is black and white. There is also the right to have backups, as Internet Archive is known to host countless backups that many could easily misinterpret as copyright infringements, but are not. I.e:
https://archive.org/details/@encore64?and%5B%5D=CD&sort=-downloads

https://archive.org/details/ravearchive?&sort=-downloads
> "Making them publicly available on the internet undermines the business models of these companies and means fewer quality samples available for everyone in the future."
False. If we focus on the number of years that have passed since most of these cds were released, it's not really appreciated what negative impact has the distribution of samplers that essentially make up a musical style currently considered mostly old (in addition to already being available on sites mentioned in the description such as vintagemusicsamples, dogsonacid, many torrent trackers, etc.). It's the same as defending the copyright of the sample floppy disks and cds for the Amiga trackers (which at the time cost a fortune and are still being sold at exorbitant prices as collectibles)
> "You are also putting Internet Archive and yourself at risk of prosecution"
Also false. Under the terms of service, the stuff hosted within the archive is not subject to discriminations with direct implications (as seen in the previous examples and the main reason why the torrent network prevails as a secondary measure in case of deletion). The responsibility for the use of said stuff remains at the discretion of each person. Below I copy two of the clauses set in the ToS, and a link with a list of famous cases whose verdicts were favorable to this site:
• Some of the content available through the Archive may be governed by [...] laws and regulations, and your use of such content is solely at your own risk.
• [...] you agree that you are solely responsible for abiding by all laws and regulations that may be applicable to the viewing of the content.
> "I haven't downloaded your files to check"
Excuse me, WHAT? .. but if you said before you were disapproving this stuff cuz didn't fit your needs. Your contradictions are excessive :(
Given all these points, it's more than clear that your arguments are more threats than simple advice/observations, which makes me suspect the fact that you really are a seller harmed by the free distribution of these backups, or maybe you're simply a music producer who doesn't want to have more competitors, and you end up giving those typical slaps of someone who drowns in the attempt to avoid the inevitable proliferation of this stuff in its free circulation on the web.
Here nobody violates nothing, these are just backup copies!

Subject: Essential data is lost in this storage format and it is copyright infringement
Subject: Essential data is lost in this storage format and it is copyright infringement
Hi CyberYoukai
I appreciate what you are trying to do here, but unfortunately there are two problems with your approach: you have lost much of the data which makes these samples usable and it is undoubtedly copyright infringement.
On the first point, most sample disks are not just a set of sound files in a folder. The format of a sample disk, be it EMU, Akai, Roland, Ensoniq, Giga or whatever, is to group samples into an instrument, map the centre note on which the sample is intended to be played, map a range of notes either side of the centre note where it is intended to be played, and to have additional layers of samples, for example velocity layers that cut in when the note is played harder or softer. These may be called multis, instruments, performances or other terms, depending on the manufacturer. To only rip the wavs and put them in folders is a bit like cutting up a book into the component words, bagging them by chapter and expecting the reader to sort them out. If you must run this archive, please do your research properly and find a way of preserving the instrument information, either in native format (Akai, EMU etc) or devise a new standard representation to sit alongside the wavs.
My second point is about copyright. You state your driving force is to preserve these sample as they are (and I quote) 'OLD, DISCONTINUED AND ESSENTIALLY ABANDONWARE'. This is patently untrue, as a simple search of the internet will reveal. Many of these samples are still sold to this day by the original manufacturers as a going concern. For example, check out the following sites:
https://www.ilio.com/
https://www.bestservice.com/index.html
https://www.spectrasonics.net/
Making them publicly available on the internet undermines the business models of these companies and means fewer quality samples available for everyone in the future. You are also putting Internet Archive and yourself at risk of prosecution (yes, your storage without a licence is illegal). When you say (and I quote again) 'feel free to extract and share these around to others it'll be appreciated', you are putting others at risk not only of breaching copyright laws by downloading these files, but also if they have a commercial hit using a sample without a licence they risk losing all their revenue - and possibly more - to the copyright holder!
I haven't downloaded your files to check, but if you have ripped all the wavs from some of the Spectrasonics disks, for example Symphony of Voices, you'll find a folder entitled 'Listen2This', which is a personal and beautifully presented plea from Eric Persing, the driving force behind Spectrasonics over the decades, to respect the creator of the sample and not share it. I recommend that you and anyone else considering sharing in this way should listen to that track and consider the right moral approach.
You could achieve your same objective by providing links to these sample sets at the original manufacturers' websites - people often want to track down old sample sets or, if they are using a copy, to get a licence when they want to make a commercial release. Please consider this with your project and remove these files as soon as practical.
Many thanks and kind regards
Geoff

You have no idea how much I'm thankful for you to upload this. There are some super rare sound effects in there that I spent years to find (lots of them are in Advanced Mega Back and Total Control's Action Cutz). I had no idea there were here, and this is just the greatest thing that has happened to me in these past months haha. Thank you CyberYoukai!!!
Please do not hesitate to post more of these, there might be even more sounds I was looking for, especially from Best Service/Total control :D
edit: if possible, please add Best Service's Advanced Media Trax CDs and Advanced Mega Effect's other disks that aren't in this archive.

Good compilation of sample CDs, although some of them are from the early-mid 2000s (Vengeance for example, and Zero-G's Jungle Warfare discs don't have Amen breaks – ZG had to remove them due to copyright issues but you may find them on the original CDs).
