Is there any way to update the USB stick (such as a website) for the latest anti virus detection?

Answer:

Hi William. The usb stick updates itself every time you use it so you always have the latest virus definitions. I used it once and just as a test, i ran my virus and malware programs and they did not find one infection. I hope this answers your question. Richard

My computer began slowing down tremendously as well as the boot up time suddenly became extremely long. After running the "FixMeStick" only once, this product immediately discovered the Trojan Threat that was on my computer and instantly got rid of the problem. My computer now runs at the speed it should with no further problems. I run the FixMeStick 2 to 3 times a month and it's kept my computer free of any issues. I would highly recommend this product.

Finds And Eliminates Threats That Your Antivirus Can Not.

I bought this product because in spite of anti virus programs my 3 computers were running slow and acting flaky. I'm a former IT guy and had hardened the targets as much as possible. I installed one of Consumer Reports top rated internet security programs. I beefed up the protection with Malawarebytes. I never click spam emails, go to sketchy sites, etc. Fix Me Stick points out that some viruses hide in the operating system and can not be found while it is running. Unfortunately, this is true. Fix Me Stick configures your computer to reboot into a Linux system on the stick that finds and cleans your viruses. All three computers were infected. I would love to give this five stars but the booting into Linux can be a little complicated for some PCs. You may have to find and hit your boot sequence key during startup. This varies by vendor but Fix me stick instructions provide this information for major brands. My son has a custom built computer that locked up when it hit the Fix Me Stick boot up screen. Fortunately, Fix Me Stick provided two fail safe boot options and the first I tried worked. I did not have to call tech support, even. So the product may require a bit of patience and tech support is available, if needed. My computers run like new again. I will use Fix Me Stick on a regular basis..

Update. When I first bought this product it wouldn't run. However, I called their customer service line and their tech was extremely helpful and got the scanner to operate. The version I have is unlimited uses on 3 pcs. I try to run it once a month. The second month it wouldn't run again and I had to take extra steps to make it work through the boot menu. Now on month 4 the scan will not initiate and if you try to make it work through the boot menu the computer will not boot up while the fix me stick is inserted. You have to remove the stick in order for the computer to boot up. I tried calling their customer service (which the package says is available Mon through Sat 9am- 7pm) and I got a message telling me they were not taking calls. This use to be my favorite scanner and it worked great. It appears the company has gone to crap and so has their product. This is one of the most expensive products out there and it only works a couple times before becoming trash. Spend your money on something else that works for at least a year.

I noticed that there were differing opinions in the reviews - so I thought it might be helpful if I passed on my experience. I recently purchased the FixMeStick here on Amazon. I used it on 3 different computers (2 Desktops and 1 Laptop). The instructions were simple and easy to follow. The stick is well thought out in its procedures and even includes a status display while it is scanning your computer. I found that to be very helpful as compared to a blank screen with a progress wheel or something like that. The stick found suspicious items on 2 of my computers and easily removed them for me. One computer showed zero suspicious files after the scan. Each computer has a different number of files that had to be scanned so the total time varied by computer but I'd estimate the average scan time at about 3 hours. For me, it was a breeze, since I got the scan started and then left the computer alone until it was done. Much better than having to sit and watch it!!

This thing never worked. I don't have any bugs or virous' in my computers, all I wanted to do was make sure. this pile never booted as advertised. It didn't work the same way on 2 of my desktops and one laptop. Their tech support was nothing but email telling me other ways this schtick (which is all it was) will work. With a follow up email asking how they did, and would I please rate their tech support? "IT WAS HORRABILE! THE SCHTICK WAS HORRIBLE! SO STOP ASKING ALREADY!" Every different way they said to use it NEVER worked on any of my computers! All I got was surveys from them. I should have sent it back the second it didn't work because their tech support didn't work any better than the schtick did.

I requested a refund and received an email from them asking me to contact their IT support. I still want a refund so that I can buy something that ACTUALLY WORKS. Do yourself a favor and avoid this fixmestick nonesense!

This is great. I allowed myself to panic and gave a crook access to my computer. When I realized what he was doing, I told his stop but the damage had already been done and I refused to purchase his $149.00 product to fix the problem. I turned off the power and made a few phone calls. I tried to fix it with another product that I downloaded. My computer was a mess. I didn't want to spend $400.00 to $500.00 to fix my computer so I gave up, removed it from my desk and started using my laptop. I can't remember where I saw this advertised but I immediately checked Amazon and decided that for the price, I had to give it a try. I did have some problems getting the repair started but considering the multi problem situation, I started the program three times and on the third try, it started doing whatever it was supposed to do. It took around three hours for my computer but when the job was complete, my computer worked better than it had in months. I plan to renew this at the end of the year.

I have tried contacting the company via the support email address provided and by directly responding with the same message to their automated survey (which invites you to reply if you have any issues) - no response in 4 working days. The product is also non-returnable according to Amazon.

Where do I start , they push this product using what look like actual user videos on Facebook ect, but it certainly wasn’t the product I got.
Amazon as usual delivered it in record time FANTASTIC , the product did NOT work , it wouldn’t run no matter what I did I followed every tutorial and every bit of advice.
I contacted the company FixMeStick who’s sales blurb was “ backed up with Canadian service “ or blurb like that well that’s not the case 4 days later just an email suggesting stuff to try
I sent it back for a full refund which Amazon did no hassle at all thank god
